The 15-minute walk through the woods to the beach was a highlight—beautiful and peaceful. We came for the beach but also fell in love with the house. We will absolutely be coming back for another stay. Less than 20min from Grand Haven beach to play the day away and hang out for the singing fountain after sunset. Less than 20 min from the Muskegon high speed ferry when it was time to head back to Minnesota. The short walk to P J Hoffmaster beach from the house was difficult because of beach erosion the last couple years making the climb up and down very steep but it was still definitely worth the effort! Only negatives were we wish there was more seating to eat together with everyone and a couple people in our group thought there was a strong musty smell but the rest of us couldn’t smell it. ##### Elliotte W. Owners are quick to respond with any questions or for help. Brand new stove and refrigerator, just waiting on the dishwasher but I have 5 dishwashers. It was nice having two bathrooms and the washer and dryer, and I loved the fact that it was only about a 10 minute walk to the lake. It was nice opening up the slider doors in the front and back to get a cross breeze in the house. The house was a little musty coming in, but once we opened it up and aired it out, it was a pleasant place to be. ##### Chris F. This review was submitted before 2018 and has not been verified. ### 4/10 Poor #### Luba A. 27 Jun 2016 #### Good Location The location of the property is great - walk to the beach, drive to town very close. The fire pit was great in the end of the day. This is where all greatness stops. The property was overgrown and dirty (dust was everywhere as well as spider webs on windows) , looks like it was never cleaned after the winter. None of beds in the bunk rooms had sheets on, we had to look for them in all drawers to make beds out of miscellaneous mismatched sheets. There were only 2 windows that we could open - bunk bed room and big window in the living room had winter windows on, so we couldn't open them as well as there was no hot water. Pretty much the house wasn't ready for our arrival. After communication with the owner we got windows open and hot water turned on by his management company couple hours later, but really this is not how you want to start your vacation. The fire pit was overgrown with ferns thank goodness we found scissors and cut them all down so we can at least put chairs around. Im sure, as the season in full swing all these nuances are gone and someone dust the place (I dusted the grill from winter dust). Of course after all these things were fixed we had a great time. ##### Luba A. ---
