"We really enjoyed our stay at Bessie's Landing. The cottage is located perfectly to be able to walk to the local eateries and attractions. The details made it a special way to celebrate our anniversary. The front porch was the perfect place to enjoy a cup or two of morning coffee. We couldn't have asked for a better stay. And the well stocked refrigerator, complete with drinks and snacks was a welcomed treat after traveling or out shopping.We've been coming to Jefferson every few years since 1979; it's the perfect getaway from the Metroplex. We try to stay someplace new each time, just to have varied experiences. I suspect we'll be coming back here again next time, though, just because it has so much to offer.Hats off to our host, and the great little oasis they have created. We heavily recommend it."

"FIRST thing was no electricity on in the house when we arrived. We immediately called host who did not know why electric was off. We were able to open outside breaker box & turn it on. The place was large & old. We did not see any bugs while there, ac & heat was good. However house was right on Hwy 59, & the traffic noise was LOUD. We had brought a box fan & it did cut down on the noise. It was pet-friendly for our dog. NOW although the house was basically clean, it needs a good deep cleaning, painting, etc. Its just an old house thats probably been neglected. We were comfortable with all the room & it had two baths, but the dryer did not get hot. We were very close to downtown Jefferson."
