"Opera hotel is definitely a hidden gem in the heart of the south bronx. Close to all transportation, shopping and food. The hotel staff and accommodations were wonderful. They have limited parking and a smoking area outside with a cute bench to relax on. They have some of the best coffee offered 24/7. Spoiler alert: Don't be alarmed by the locals (homeless, addicts, unemployed and street vendors) that hang out in the area, they never bothered us and we went in and out all times of the day and night without any issues. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the city and want to see more than the tourist spots. This location gives the real ny experience."
