I’m not a fan of key box entry and this has definitely confirmed I won’t use them again. On hotels.com the property is advertised as having “free parking”. This is misleading as parking is not on the premises, its on street parking and spaces are few and far between in a busy residential/restaurant area. I managed to park one street over.
On collection of the keys, I made my way to room 14, entrance outside of the building. The room was freezing and the radiator stone cold. As instructed, I rang the landline number to be told by an operator in a remote location that someone would be down to fix it. 45 minutes later I had to ring again as the problem had not been sorted. I asked for a phone call to give me a definite time of the engineer arrival. I got a text. 20 minutes later an engineer arrived, blamed the cleaner for “turning it off”? and sorted it, fixing a leaking radiator as well.
As the heating had been off for some time, the room took a while to heat up. The following morning, same scenario, heating off. I called the landline and got an automated response saying no one was available and to leave a message. I did and was not contacted so I rang the emergency number and got voicemail. I left a message but after 20 minutes as again no one got back to me, I rang again, and again, and got voicemail each time.
It was now an hour after my first call so I went out to the front of the house and found a cleaner who apparently had been told of the problem but did not know how to
