"The staff at the hotel were happy and polite. Very helpful and welcoming. The rooms were clean and the food was good. Plenty of space for parking. The hotel looks old fashioned, and that's exactly what it should be. It makes you feel like you should when visiting Ireland. Balina has lovely scenery and great local places to eat real good food. Beaches, lakes, hills and wildlife all in one place."

"Amazing restaurant and beautiful castle. A gem of architecture, the bar made like a galleon was superb. The meal was excellent and the staff attentive. If there was one issue the sound travels between the bedrooms clearly as we heard snoring from another room all night. I'd certainly recommend this hotel and will return in future."

"We had an amazing stay at this place! Na was very helpful throughout the whole stay and available when we needed something. The place was as is in the pictures super clean and spacious with a large kitchen that has everything youneed. Easy access to the lake through a beautiful forest trail. We were lucky to catch a warm and sunny weather - I’d suggest you bring some mosquito repellent if you are planning on visiting during the warm season as they do bite. Would 100% recommend and visit again in the future!"

"Wonderful place to be based for a trip to Ireland. Loved the private beach, the views of the lake, fishing on the lake, and of course the donkeys! Enjoyed lots of days out around Mayo and Sligo. Mary was a lovely host! Highly recommend the venue as place to enjoy in and of its self as well as base to go exploring! "
