Dog Friendly 10 Acre Retreat Fly Fishing and Pond

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this beautiful property. The home and grounds were very clean and well maintained. Being pet friendly was a huge plus for us since we were able to have our dog on vacation with us. Communication was great and detailed check in/out information was provided. We would definitely stay at this property again when we return to the Blue Ridge area. Fishing was good in the pond in the early morning before the heat of the day set in. All of the bass I caught were released back in the pond for future guests to enjoy. We really enjoyed having the creek right behind the home and our dog loved it."

"Not enough soap was provided. Only one small bar that we had to use for washing hands and showers. I guess I could have asked for more, but I expect to have one for the sink and a second one for the shower. Plenty of towels, though. The breakfast was adequate. The coffee was good. The walls are a little thin. The room next to ours had the TV going all night. It wasn't loud, but you could still hear it. The AC worked well. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were just right, not too big or too flat. We were only there for one night, and we got in very late and left well before check out time so we did not take advantage of any amenities. The staff was friendly enough, but we were smelly BMT hikers and probably looked like homeless people so I didn't expect too much hospitality. Check in and check out were both very efficient."

"The home itself is top-notch. Spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped-a fully stocked kitchen, great indoor/outdoor amenities, and a pet-and child-friendly astroturf backyard. The location is convenient to Blue Ridge, and the gated community offers beautiful views of the lake and mountains.My primary issue was with how lake access was represented. At the time of booking, the listing stated the property had "lake access" and described outdoor adventure as being "just outside your door." The presence of a locked storage shed containing boating equipment further suggested direct access to the lake.When I contacted the management company, they repeatedly confirmed that the property had access to Lake Blue Ridge, and later acknowledged the home had a dock that was under renovation. However, they could not provide any directions, path, map, or specific access point to the lake. Eventually, they stated that lake activities might require a short walk or even a drive from the property.This was frustrating because the home was described as lake-accessible, yet no one could explain how that access actually worked. If lake access is unavailable due to the dock renovation, or if reaching the lake requires leaving the property and driving, that should be clearly disclosed in the listing. The home is an excellent mountain retreat with beautiful lake views, but the language used to describe lake access was paltering and dishonest. House itself- 10/10Managment- 0/10"

"Memories were made at this incredible VRBO stay. With 27 guests to witness our daughter's wedding in an intimate and personal way, this made this special moment exactly what we wanted. Even more, the guests were treated to an unbelievable experience that included fun on the lake, multiple recreational and movie theaters, and relaxation spaces. On a scale of 1-10, everything was memory filled and we would easily rate it an 11! Thank you for making this wedding and trip a once in a lifetime weekend of perfection!"
