Of the 7 lodgings we stayed at - this was by far the most unique place. Staff was very friendly & assisted with delivering early morning breakfast that we ordered the night prior. It has direct access to the water (but it is not very clear compared to some other parts of the lagoons). We were able to rent a kayak while here and also had one of our best spa sessions while on our trip. Fenua is one of a kind as it only offers 5 very unique and homey rooms. We spent a decent amount of time in the lounge area which felt like something out of a book. The common area & rooms have an abundance of plants that are well maintained and give the ambience of staying in a coastal jungle. The AC worked surprisingly well despite other reviews we had seen. The breakfast we ordered was incredible - especially the homemade jams included with the pastry boards. There are only a couple of potential downsides depending on your preferences. 1.) There will be geckos in your room - they are small and harmless, but you’ll want to keep your bags zipped. 2.) Sometimes you’ll hear easily through the walls (staff working outside on maintenance / birds nestling on the roof) etc. 3.) As mentioned before there is only 5 rooms offered here, so you will not run into many guests. I would carry detergent sheets or tablets if you plan to do laundry. There Sunset views were incredible. The shower left there while bathroom wet as it is not well designed but it meet our needs and didn't take away from this being a great stay."
