Wonderful, warm staff, thoughtfully and uniquely decorated rooms, a beautiful library, and a very nice breakfast. Also, the hotel is in a charming, quiet square near many lovely restaurants and the market hall.

Well situated in old city within walking distance of a number of museums and good restos. And the ferry terminal if you are coming by boat. Decor of rooms cleverly based on local artists. Yet amenities bathroom etc very modern. Excellent breakfasts. The staff was extremely helpful with great advice re food, drink and things to do, and organized a day long winery tour. Kudos to Roxanna, Luca, Fiorella and Manuel

This is like a bed and breakfast in old town Montevideo. The free breakfast was outstanding. The location is very convenient for access to the port, the port market, and many museums. We added a combined walk/car tour to intensely experience Montevideo during our 4-day stay.

Staff are excellent!! Kind and extremely helpful. Great location with cafés and restaurants one block away. I chose not to have breakfast here, as what I saw appeared extremely minimal. This boutique has a lot of antique pieces, so much so that I did not sit on the chairs in the room for fear of breaking them. The rooms are clean, and the bed is comfortable. I did need earplugs as the noise from the street at various hours of the night/morning woke me up.

I was happy with the room. The hotel is located across from a little square. There was not a lot of car or foot traffic outside. The location is good for visiting the Ciudad Vieja. I was also able to walk to the Buquebus which goes to Buenos Aires.

Beautiful hotel in the old town

Welcoming service, excellent breakfast in a comfortable, stylish boutique hotel. The location was perfect for walking the city and seeing many of the sites. We would return and recommend Alma Historica to anyone.
