The property park, which hosts many of his artworks and his studio, is a true open air museum. The town of Monteverdi Marittima with shops of all kinds is about 500 meters away. The sculptor personally supervised the renovation and furnishing of the rental units, using his favorite material, travertine, for the bathrooms, kitchens, stairs and floors. On the property, each of the 8 units has its own, private outdoor space. There are also large common spaces and 2 shared pools: one is uncovered, the other has a travertine roof and is heated to 36° using natural geothermal heat. This heated pool makes it possible to swim even during the cooler months! The furnishings will be updated before the 2026 season, to modernize the 8 units while maintaining the charming use of stone, and the property’s rural feel. Within about a 45 km radius there are the Etruscan city of Volterra, the medieval village of Bolgheri (famous for its esteemed wines and beautiful cypress-lined road), the Bolgheri Oasis (natural park - WWF Italy), and the Etruscan Coast’s beautiful beaches like Marina di Cecina, Marina di Bibbona and Marina di Castagneto. Le Querciolaie is ideal if you are looking for a peaceful, evocative place that’s different from the rest. Guests of the property’s 8 units have at their disposal: large “open air museum” (lawn and woods), pool (16 x 8 meters - depth: 1,40 meters), pool with hot water (the water is 36° upon arrival) covered by a travertine vaulted ceiling (9 x 3 meters – depth 1,4 meters – open all year), large travertine sunbathing area with sun loungers and umbrellas, shower (hot water), Wifi internet, parking within the grounds. Nice and clean swimming pool. Located on the outskirts of monteverdi marittimo, a historic town with a beautiful centre. Couple of small shops and a helpful tourist office. We stayed in Sculture-3, with 8 people. The house is fine for that, plenty of indoor and outdoor space. In terms of cutlery and crockery, it is all just adequate. Location in relation to sightseeing is fine, all the beautiful places and the various beaches are good to drive to. This makes the combo between resting and exploring the area ideal. ##### Peter O. Chaude et froide c’est bien pratique selon l’envie et le temps. Par contre la villa laisse à désirer ! Le ménage n’est pas niquel pour 80€. Il a fallu repasser le balai à notre arrivée car beaucoup de poussières sous les lits et pièce à vivre. La literie est à changer et le ballon d’eau chaude fonctionne une fois sur deux. Il a fallu l’éteindre et le rallumer toutes les 2 douches pour avoir de l’eau chaude. L’intendant est très respectueux et à répondu à nos difficultés: prise tv cassée, ampoule à changer. Le village est à proximité pour se dépanner et se restaurer. Village mignon. Pour faire de grosses courses il faut privilégier les grandes villes au bord de mer à 25minutes de route. ##### Alicia L. Va bene la policy ma che dopo le 18 non ci sia più nessuna possibilità di un contatto in caso di emergenza costringendo le persone a cercare un altro alloggio per la sera fra scioperi, covid etc mi pare un disservizio. ##### Maeve L. Couldn't ask for better service, better surroundings, better pool and location to the pool, village. The area is private and not overrun. We can highly recommend the dinner at Mari's. We didn't take breakfast except once and that too can only be highly recommended. Mari and her staff did their outmost to accommodate any wish we had. We clearly had (for us) the best house, as we were close to the pool but at the end of the row of houses. So privacy, view to the surrounding areas and a large area for our 1 yr old to run around at (around the house there is a perfect terrace that a 1 yr old can enjoy). Only comment is that there is a large opening/hole under the stairs up the backside, that should be closed or somehow secured as any younger child find this very interesting and a fall would be pretty bad. ##### null T.
