Our waterfront home has been lovingly updated and maintained and is a perfect choice for your family vacation on Smith Mountain Lake! This waterfront home has beautiful lake and sunset views and is situated on a wide water cove off the main channel. It offers deep water for swimming from the floating and stationary dock, and the shoreline offers sandy walk in water, perfect for young children to swim or to sit on Adirondack chairs while splashing your feet in the waters edge. The dock also offers enough space to tie up your boat. If you are looking to rent a boat during your stay, our home is conveniently located new the Halesford Bridge area which offers several marina and rental options. In addition, if you wish to trailer your own boat, there is a boat ramp within our community for your convenience to launch and the house offers ample space in the driveway and side street for your trailer in addition to multiple vehicle parking. The dock area also offers a waterside fire pit with a shaded sitting area for all day relaxation and mini-frig for afternoon beverages. The yard has plenty of trees so there is always small branches and sticks on the ground to gather to help build your campfire, and we also keep a small supply of firewood nearby. For your entertainment, there are two kayaks and two paddle boards provided for lots of lake fun!! We also have available a variety of adult size life jackets for your use but be sure to pack life jackets for your children as all sizes are not available. There is also an electric air pump to assist you in blowing up your favorite floats. The house is situated on a corner lot with a large front yard for family yard games, and we have a corn hole game for hours of fun. Also we are conveniently located only minutes by land or water to Bridgewater Plaza and area amenities, for shopping, dining, arcade and mini- golf. Nearby, there are also golf courses, wineries, historical sites and the Blue Ridge Parkway to explore. The main level of the house offers a renovated kitchen and dining area with seating for eight. The main Living Room offers hardwood floors, a cathedral ceiling, fireplace and patio doors out to lakeside deck for outside dining and sunset views. The master suite offers a queen bed, private bath with dual sinks and private lakeside deck as well. The main floor also has two additional bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with a double bed) and second bath. The lower level provides the third bath and fourth sleeping area and family room combination. This offers a queen size and a double size bed, along with family room furnishings and area for games and second fireplace. There are DVD’s, PlayStation, Game Cube and super Nintendo with many games to play. There is also board games, puzzles for indoor competitive fun or to relax. The family room also has patio doors leading out to a lakeside covered patio with a Weber gas grill, and plenty of seating for relaxation and dining outside. Finally, one of my favorite things to do on vacation is cook for my family and friends, so with that in mind, the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, casserole dishes, electric griddle, mixer, crock pot, kitchen aid, toaster, coffee maker and multiple cooking utensils, nice dishware, flatware, wine glasses, etc. Everything you need to prepare and serve your favorite meals. Certainly, we are available to answer any of your questions, to assist you in finding the perfect vacation location on SML. Beautiful house and property. Very clean with lots of cleaning and toiletry supplies. There were four adults and five kids in our group and it was so nice that the linens were included. I must say there are a lot of steps down to the lake, but it’s worth it! The lake area is very nicely done, the cove is quiet, and swimming off the dock was loads of fun! We returned because the house is clean and comfortable with great access to the lake. It's a lot of stairs down and up, but the dock area is awesome and we love the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards that they have there. The space was perfect for our needs with enough supplies and space for all. We spent one day hiking at SML State Park and the next day swimming/sunning by the lake. Beautiful shoreline but lots of stairs with no rail. Fine for in-shape people, or those with steady gait but our elderly guest could not manage the 88 steps, we adjusted by driving him 15 min to the public marina where he could get on the boat .. so be aware if you have elderly or disabled people. We went on vacation with 2 other families and had 6 adults and 4 teenagers ages15-18 and everyone had a phenomenal time!- House looks just like the pictures- Tons of room- Super clean- Stocked with EVERYTHING. Loved that you provided garbage bags, dish soap and tons of other extras!- Bathrooms were updated and awesome- Decks were beautiful, swept and had great views- WiFi was excellent- The dock area was perfection! Swam and played every day. The sheds were a great touch. LOVED the seating areas by the dock- This was our first time staying in a coves d not the main channel, and we loved it. We didn’t have to tie our rafts to the dock so we wouldn’t float away- kids all loved the paddle boards and kayaks- driveway fit all 5 of our vehicles and probably would have fit 8- hosts were quick to respond to any questions we had- yes there are100 steps to get to the water. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It even had an air fryer which wasn’t listed on the description. The decks were wonderful, with plenty of seating. It even had a shaded deck. The greatest part was the lake set up. Great dock, sitting areas, fire pit, and a shallow entry for our grandkids, who are 2 and 4\. The only bad part was there are over a 100 steps from the house to the dock. Yes we counted them! Just consider this when booking this home if you have anyone with ambulatory issues. The hosts were really nice and answered all of our questions quickly. I contacted them because we couldn’t find the electric air pump. Apparently it had been taken or hidden. They ordered one and we had it the next day. Now that really is above and beyond what they had to do for us. We absolutely loved this rental!!!
