"The hotel was beautiful, clean, modern and the staff were excellent. The staff were very helpful in planning day trips and making recommendations and even bookings for us. Th restaurant had delicious food with a different catch of the day every day and could easily accommodate my celiac diet. The views were stunning and it was wonderful to hear the ocean while eating at the restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel."

"What a great place to stay. Views amazing, hosts even better. They were accommodating and thoughtful through out the stay. Beach was close by, nearby restaurant was simply amazing and the outdoor balcony was spacious; you will never want to leave to go on your day excursions. Recomend bringing binoculars to capture the surroundings even more and be ready for some uphill both walking and driving but all worth it."

"Ein wirklich tolles Haus mit phantastischem Meerblick!Die Einrichtung und Ausstattung, auch der Kücheneinrichtung, war perfekt. Schönes Mobiliar, großzügige helle Räumlichkeiten. Meerblick von 2 Räumen und der riesigen Terrasse. Der dritte Raum hatte Seitenblick auf die Berge.Die Terrasse hat einen überdachten Bereich mit Esstisch und Stühlen und 2 Liegesesseln und einen tollen Blick aufs Meer, den Hafen und den Ort mit der Kirche, hinter der wir an einigen Tagen den Sonnenuntergang beobachten konnten.Wir haben häufig draußen gesessen. Da es teilweise kühl und ein bisschen regnerisch und an anderen Tagen sehr sonnig war, kam uns die Überdachung sehr entgegen. Das Haus liegt oberhalb der Straße, weshalb der Blick ungestört war und der Verkehr uns nicht störte. Ein separater Laundry-Raum enthielt eine Waschmaschine und einen Wäscheständer. Die Räume wurden sehr sauber, mit liebevollen Arrangements übergeben. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber José war schnell und unkompliziert, José war sehr herzlich und hilfsbereit.Die Umgebung war abwechslungsreich, die Lage am Meer toll. Porto Formoso ist ein Dorf mit wenig Infrastruktur, es gibt einen winzigen Laden und ein rustikales Restaurant mit freundlicher englischsprechender Bedienung, in dem wir einmal zu Abend gegessen haben.Im Nachbarort Moinhos war der schönste Strand, den wir auf Sao Miguel hatten, und ein tolles Strandlokal mit sehr nettem Personal und leckerem Essen. Wir kommen gern wieder!"

Luis has excellent communication and checked in with me multiple times during my stay to make sure I had everything I needed. And the unit is fully stocked with everything you could ever need"

"We couldn’t believe how perfect this house is. The house itself: impeccably clean and comfortable. There is a room with a large table and comfortable chairs where you can open all the sliding doors on three sides to the ocean - it was heaven. Kitchen, perfect. Bedrooms, perfect. Bathrooms/showers, perfect. Laundry and dishwasher worked perfectly. Zone A/C in all rooms if desired, although we kept the windows open for the ocean air! So many windows and outdoor balcony spaces which were wonderful. And, not a single, solitary insect the whole time we were there. The setting: this beautiful house is RIGHT ON THE BEACH at Praia dos Moinhos - a lovely, uncrowded beach. We woke each morning to having the beach to ourselves!!!! And even when others arrived it was sparsely populated! The sand is great and it is perfect for swimming. And there are even lifeguards!!! And a cafe with music and delicious food. The island is small - and the location of the house was a convenient base to be able to reach all areas! The hosts: Communication was fantastic. They were friendly, helpful, and very responsive!!! They helped with travel/airport questions, and sky questions we had from the initial booking to a change in dates to adding a person to any house questions were answered right away! (And for any future guests, we did enjoy visits from a very distinguished cat each day - we read that the island collectively takes care of the cats since they are good for keeping mice away! We loved him!)"
