"My wife and I have been to a lot of places and stayed at many different hotels. This hotel is a Clarion Pointe property of Choice Hotels. It's a chain hotel, run according to a chain's playbook. So imagine my surprise when I read a number of negative recent reviews telling me in no uncertain terms that this was a terrible place. I came and stayed in late September 2026. According to the Choice Hotels website website, this is what this hotel chain is supposed to be about: Experience contemporary design touches, on-demand connectivity, modern fitness essentials and curated food and beverage options—from a complimentary better-for-you breakfast to premium beverages for purchase at our marketplace. This is exactly what it is. The room was spotless, the bathroom was not super high-grade but was also spotless. The room had been recently renovated. I couldn't see a single reason for all the negativity. It's a Clarion Pointe hotel. It isn't the Radisson. It isn't a fleabag, or even an economy motel option. It's not a place you'll be ashamed to take your wife or family member or work contractor or church group or kid's hockey team to. The staff, especially Sam and Bill at the front desk, is very good at what they do, and always ready to help. There's plenty of peace and quiet. It's clean. It's in an accessible location, Bottom line: this was a nice hotel and I'd stay here again if I come back to Erie."

"Our second stay! Super clean and well-appointed place. Such a quiet neighborhood, yet it's a short drive to more activities in Edinboro and Erie. Great water pressure, excellent snack basket. Plenty of blankets for cozying up, terrific bedding. We're getting used to the spiral staircase going downstairs! We loved an afternoon on the deck, reading and listening to the waterfall under the sunshine. Great communication from Laura when I asked for recommendations for food, etc. Easy lock box to access the property. Loved the assortment of teas (that's me!) and coffees (that's him) and even CoffeeMate and sugar. Fridge had some cold water bottles for the taking. Sunset Grill in Edinboro is right on the lake, and we lucked into some live music. Maybe 30 minutes to drive into Presque Isle and rent bikes and sit on the sand reading. Check out Kite Beach! And I don't think you can understand how quaint and lovely and peaceful this place truly is. Games to play, you could eat overlooking the woods from the dining table, many different places to sit outside and enjoy nature. We will be back, for sure!"

"The coffee here was EXCELLENT! I wish I could have a cup of their coffee right now! hahahah Staff was amazing! We really didn't need to ask for anything but while eating our breakfasts we could hear how happy and joyous they were! Talking to people and being helpful and sweet. Always smiling and checking on us when we walked by the lobby. It was so sweet to hear kind words and genuine friendly interaction between staff. The room was comfortable and clean and I am very fussy about clean! Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

"The cabin was clean, was centrally located, and had everything we needed for a fun stay. It is so nice being able to bring our dogs along for the stay. It was such a relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful view. We will definitely be back!!"
