Cosy house with a magnificent ocean view and the most famous landmark in Azores

"Our stay at this villa was spectacular! From the beginning, the owner was quick to respond to my inquiries and provided helpful information about the area. Check-in and check-out were very easy.Everything about the home was thoughtfully designed, and the decor is beautiful. The upper and lower patios were highlights, with comfortable furniture, gorgeous plants, and wonderful views of Vila Franca Island, the beach, and surfers on the water. We loved watching sunrises, sunsets, and even a few rainbows from the patios.The kitchen and dining area were spacious and perfect for our group of six. The kitchen was very well equipped, with plenty of glassware and two nice coffee makers. We especially enjoyed gathering around the beautiful dining table, where all six of us could sit comfortably. The bedrooms were spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated.The location is terrific. A tiny market is just a few doors down, and several good restaurants and the marina are within a few blocks. Whale-watching tours, kayaking trips, and ferries to the island are all nearby.Some of us had visited São Miguel before and stayed in Lagoa, but we much preferred Vila Franca do Campo. We have stayed in a dozen or more villas in different countries, and this one is, without a doubt, our favorite so far.We would happily return and highly recommend this beautiful villa to anyone visiting São Miguel!"

"It was perfect for us. The pool and snack bar were a perk despite the very slow service. Beautiful public beach was a short walk. Dining hours met every one’s needs. Breakfast was ok. Low on honey, pancakes burned, pineapple brown. Bacon available on request. Breads were delicious. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Dinner was mediocre. We ended up going to other seafood restaurants despite dinner being included. One restaurant was walkable on beach. Our rooms had beautiful ocean views and we enjoyed our balconies. Comfortable. Listening to the surf lulled us to sleep."
BLUE HOUSE - BLUE HOUSE

"Staying at the Blue House was a complete delight. It was a vacation unto itself sitting on the deck and enjoying one of the best views in Sao Miguel and listening to the waves. We enjoyed going to the beach a few steps away. The house was centrally located and easy to get almost anywhere on the island. Most importantly the hosts and neighbors really went above and beyond helping us out."

"Excellent experience at the Caloura! Rooms, lobby, staff, restaurant, bar, pool, setting…Everything was wonderful! Highly recommend! Only issue we had was no spa services. Apparently they could not fill that role on their staff for this summer. My daughter was really looking forward to a spa day and although this was listed on their website, it was not an option. An unpleasant surprise amid an otherwise spectacular experience."

"The apartment was really nice, clean, modern and spacious for 4 of us. The air con was good and kept us cool and we got great WiFi signal. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with reduced mobility, our room did not have a balcony which we definitely missed. But you can probably be specific on your booking if you want one. The pool provided beautiful views and wasn't cold. The larger pool is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and pretty bare, there are loungers but no options for shade. It looks as though some work may be due to take place around there. We did not have breakfast at the onsite restaurant, we did enjoy a lunch and an evening meal there. The food was delicious but a little pricey, so probably not ideal to eat there every day. We managed to cook two pasta meals in the apartment using the small hob. There is no oven but there was a microwave and a dishwasher which was useful. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it."

"Gorgeous location atop a cliff overlooking a beach (253 steps down). AC in 2/5 bedrooms. Large yard. Really a terrific place. Parking only for small car. Overflow parking in street then 1 minute walk. Would love to go back."
