"A good location for us, we know the area from previous visits. We wanted somewhere close to Competa but El Dorado had a the added bonus of a pool!!! Marek and Derek have thought of everything, the room was spacious with good shower facilities and wardrobe space. We were not expecting the offer to have lunch and dinner, as we travel around quite a lot we did not take up this extra offer. However, the breakfast provided was extensive and sets you up for the day! There is the option to use the ‘honesty bar’ which is a lovely touch! I took advantage of having a facial during my stay which was exceptional! The products were good quality. The villa is a short drive to Competa and about 25mins back down to Algorobbo. You can take the road down to Torrox Costa which is a little more narrow. It was a great addition to our holiday spent travelling around the area and we would love to stay here again! "

"Access to the property is up a long narrow path, but it is firm ground, not dirt track, with several passing places. Contact with the host was good throughout and via the App. The villa was very clean on arrival, great pool and outside facilities. The view to the coast is amazing. Sun is available all day, but there is also plenty of shade if you need it. The villa is fully air conditioned, which was a great benefit in the heatwave and great for sleep at night. I would definitely stay here again."

"Highly recommend. Gorgeous, central location overlooking the main Plaza and church tower. Incredible service - Maurice went above and beyond, meeting me at the town border to guide me through town to the parking spot, carrying my suitcase to and from my room, and providing me excellent advice on dining and sights. I also loved the rooftop gourmet breakfast and well-stocked honor bar. Such a thoughtful place to stay."

"What a wonderful building! We were in the “suite” and it was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The breakfast was plentiful with a good choice to suit all tastes and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. We took their advice on an excellent place to have dinner and it didn’t disappoint "

"Pros/ Key insights for guests: - Fantastic outdoor space with lovely views and not overlooked. - Well stocked property overall for daily life, including kitchen materials (and leftover non-perishables from previous guests). - We would return to the property, we feel it is good value - Potential guests need be comfortable re property logstics (quite far from nearest corner shop, a trek to coast, windy roads that mean travel takes longer) - Property manager very responsive & helpful Well intended suggestions for further improvements: - Bedrooms downstairs feel dated and basic (note absence of photos) - an upgrade would really elevate the property. - Sliding doors from conservatory very stiff - Removing clutter (eg under sink) & personal items from the owner (eg drawer full of owner paperwork in the lounge) would be really helpful. - Add grip strips to the 2 sets of outdoor steps for wet-weather safety OR provide optional padlocks for the gates as they are dangerout when wet (I injured myself) - Welcome pack would be amazing eg to provide information about facilities (eg hidden wash machine, how best to manage the wasps that ruin outdoor dining intentions) - Can the fallen figs be managed between guests? There were a lot, they kept sticking to our shoes (unavoidable due to volume of them) and they attracted wasps - Getting in and out of the driveway entrance is really tricky, could this be improved? - Fix the drawer fronts in the kitchen that fall off when opening drawer"

"We had a great stay here, all as described, well equipped with the air con and WiFi working well. Pool was so nice and well used - definitely needed in August. 11km from the motorway, the road is winding, and then 1.5km off the road to the Villa, all very straightforward to get to on good roads. Close to Competa, which has small supermarkets, restaurants and a great ice cream shop!"

"Our stay was lovely. The pool and surrounding view were stunning. The house is lovely and has everything that you need. We are so pleased we went shopping before hand, as the turn off road was an eye opener with its twsts and bumps. pleased not to need to do it again straight after a day of travel. We actually loved coming and going from the house, it made us feel like adventurers :-) We enjoyed the peace and tranquility Competa is only 10mins down the road and has a selection of small supermarkets. We would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants that feeling of peace and awe One small thing, we were guided to look for a restaurant with flags to meet our escort to the property. apparently we could not miss it. Having no phone sinal in many places we drove nearly to Competa still seeing no flags. When we got signal we googled the restaurant name and drove back and found it. But not a flag in sight. Probably best not to give flags as a marker as they made us not look for the place by name. Once we had found it evverything was great then on. "
