The only slightly negative things were the lack of any storage drawers for clothes, uncomfortable bed pillows, and the steep stairs to the basement where the washer/dryer is located. All are typical in this area. On the positive side, there is a great heating/cooling system and new windows. The mattresses were very comfortable. The owner responded quickly to any issues. Outside of a lock issue which was resolved in a timely manner, there were no issues. The cottage was well equipped and very clean. The local Macalester College area was a good place to be based. The indoor space was great. I would say the back yard area could have been better and we didn’t end up using it. Overall a good experience. Everything was going great until our dog smelled a rabbit and went under the shed. THE BACK OF THE YARD WAS NOT FENCED and our dog got lose. This is the fear of pet owners-in a strange town and your pet gets away. After 30 minutes my husband found our dog. I called the host and reported this and a handyman was sent over and made what seemed to be a temporary fix. It could have turned out much differently. I hope the fence is fixed. ##### katherine M.
