Newly remodeled in 2016, this getaway offers an open kitchen with brand new appliances, a large jacuzzi style bathtub/shower with heated bathroom floor, large master bedroom with spectacular lake views, a hot tub, boat house deck, a "pub" style bar, 85" television, Pacman/Donkey Kong arcade machine and more. The Lake House is adjacent to a lovely city park with swing sets and picnic tables. There is also a boat landing next to the park for those who want to bring their water toys. Great swimming with a Lillypad water mat, paddleboards and kayak. There is also a nice dock, but please note that it is shared with two other neighbors and is technically on park property, yet accessible from the park staircase adjacent to my yard. Although I rarely see the neighbors when I'm there, once and awhile they might use it to access their boat or the lake. This is one of those neighborhoods where people are friendly, hang out together, enjoy the lake and kids play ball in the streets. It's a lot of fun that way. Another note about this house. It is not a dedicated VRBO property. That means it will have some of my things - such as clothes in the closet. There will be plenty of space for your own things and it will be as cleaned up and inviting as you should expect. But some people prefer to have their rentals empty, so I just want you to be aware that it will have a lived in feel. I'm doing this as a fun way to share my house. It will include dishes, utensils, plenty of cooking tools, bath towels, beach towels, laundry detergent and probably an extra bottle of beer or two. My Lake House has been designed for easy living and getting away from it all. It's not a new property - in fact it used to be a bait shop decades ago, so it still has that old house/cabin charm and its own wonderful imperfections. But a great effort has been made to create a cozy, enjoyable getaway where family and friends will enjoy life at the lake, all year 'round. Only 25 miles from downtown Minneapolis and only 5 minutes from charming downtown Loretto where you will find some great eats and treats. MAXIMUM GUESTS - 8\. The home was well appointed and came with everything you'd ever need to make your stay enjoyable. The dock is nice and the water was clean, great for swimming. The back yard is phenomenal, ample room with plenty of space to hang out and gaze upon the lake. The deck above the boathouse is a nice space to lounge as well. The kitchen has everything you need for meal prep, the grills are nice and the home has every appliance and utensil you could ever want. The basement is comfy and the entertainment center is great for when you're not hanging outside. Ample sleeping space for everybody and plenty of room. The neighbors are nice and the house sits next to a little park, which was great to toss a frisbee around. The upstairs did get a little warm, so just get that AC running as soon as you check in. We had eight people total staying and everyone was comfortable and gave rave reviews. It is close to the cities and easy to get to. Arranging rides to Wayzata one night wasn't an issue over the weekend, so it is pretty much ideally situated just outside of the twin cities. Michael is a phenomenal host and was quick to respond to my messages. He was very gracious and a pleasure to work with. He went out of his way to make sure we were happy and it was much appreciated. I can't think of a better location to relax with a small group of friends. I will absolutely be back and will be recommending this home to any friends that are looking for a beautiful place to stay that is close to the cities and right on a clean lake. The only downside of our trip was that we were there in a freak April blizzard so we got pretty buried in snow, but the owner checked in on us several times to make sure we were ok and see if we needed anything, as well as sending some neighbors to help dig the cars out of the drive. The views of the lake here are incredible. We all really enjoyed ourselves and enjoyed the nice touches in the property. Hopefully we can re-rent soon in a warmer time of year so we can enjoy paddle boarding and swimming in the lake! Also, the Irish pub in Maple Plain has fantastic food! It's a perfect place to stay. The owner was wonderful.
