The first floor houses a lovely coffeehouse called Cafe 43, where you can buy delicious coffee and tea drinks, and all kinds of breakfast and lunch meals. After ascending the stairs, you will enter your apartment which is quite spacious, with a bedroom, living room and kitchen area, and a well-appointed bathroom. There are a few quirks, like a floor that slopes a bit, not surprising given the age of the building. The shower and bed were great and the kitchen had most things needed to cook and eat simple meals. The host was especially responsive. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the steep stairway — not good for anyone with mobility issues — and sounds from the apartments above and next door, especially dogs barking.
