"It's worth staying here just for the view. Happily there's more reasons than that though. We spent 3 nights at Lagou Raxi and we all loved it, including my teens. The views from the hotel are spectacular whether you are on your room balcony, eating a meal on the porch or relaxing at the pool. The hotel is like a little oasis. It's 15 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes walk to a great little town square with a several taverna's. But, perched up on the hill it's so much quieter, calmer and...

"Me and my elderly dad had a great week here. Perfect location on the beach with a great pool. All kept very clean. The spa was great too. The staff were wonderful and accommodating and the rooms had great balconies to sit and read. The only thing which could be improved was the food offered - just not as nice as other places and the shower in the bathroom was a bit of a pain - try to shower without turning your bathroom into a swimming pool! We would definitely return and would recommend this...

"The beach was further away than what was described and the “road” was not an actual road. The amenities ended up being less than what was listed, there are no washers, no parking, wifi sucks, etc. the pool was not clean, the food remained the same every day. It’s far from the main road. Towels were never changed, sheets never changed, never sweeper or mopped the room and we stayed for a decent time. Depending on the room the appliances did not work which we didn’t find out until everything went...

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Mikro?

The best area to stay in Mikro is the village centre itself, offering the most convenient and picturesque experience. This small, traditional village is located into the Pelion hillside, overlooking the Pagasetic Gulf. The main square, often referred to as the "plateia," is the heart of the village, surrounded by tavernas and a few local shops. The narrow, cobbled streets wind through stone houses, many with flower-filled balconies, leading down towards the sea. It's a place where life moves at a relaxed pace.Couples looking for a romantic and tranquil escape will find Mikro ideal. The peace and quiet, combined with stunning sea views from many accommodations, create a ideal setting for relaxation. You can enjoy leisurely meals at the waterfront tavernas, take strolls along the small beach, or simply unwind on a balcony with a good book. For families with older children, the village centre provides a welcoming base. The children can explore the village's pathways and the small beach, which is generally calm for swimming.

When is the best time to go to Mikro?

The best time to go to Mikro, Thessaly, Greece, is generally during the late spring (May to early June) or early autumn (September to early October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.During these shoulder seasons, the weather is comfortably warm, ideal for exploring the village and surrounding nature without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the hiking trails in good condition, and the sea is warm enough for a swim. These months offer a relaxed pace, great for those seeking a tranquil escape. For travellers who enjoy a lively option and don't mind warmer temperatures, July and August are also popular. This is peak season, so the village will be busier, and accommodation prices might be higher.
