"The room itself was very nice, and it worked well for our family of 4\. Everything is new, and the space is stylishly designed, which is sometimes hard to find in smaller towns in Japan. The challenge is the property is a 10-15 minute walk, along a main road, to any restaurant or cafe, etc. There's a 7-11 nearby, but apart from that, you're alongside a busy road and a highway off-ramp ... and not much else. If you have a car, this is no issue. But for us, with two young kids, and of course...

"The hotel is old but historic. The rooms were ample and very comfortable. The staff was super nice and went out of our way to help us feel welcome. The location is perfect, very close to the temples and at a 5 minute taxi ride from the train station. Also walkable in half an hour or less. Breakfast was very good. I would have stayed one night longer to be honest."
