Wander through the natural park and enjoy the serene ambiance of the countryside before a trip to the art centre of Nancy . Meurthe-et-Moselle is a picturesque region full of rivers, undulating green hills and Nancy, which is among France’s top culture spots. Many of the highlights lie in the city, known for it museums and art scene centred around its magnificent plaza and parks. Outside of the city, go fishing along the river or visit the vineyards and farms of the pleasant countryside.

When you arrive in Nancy, a great starting place and gathering point is the central Place Stanislas . See the elegant square in the evening, when its historic buildings are soaked in warm light. Make your way to the Lorraine Regional Natural Park, which has 510,000 acres (205,000 hectares) of unspoiled picturesque terrain. Hike along the paths and discover the various monuments and ancient ruins.
Stop off at one of the many ports along the rivers of the district. Admire the boats in the Richardmenil Yacht Harbour or Port Pleasance in Nancy.
Meurthe-et-Moselle lies in the Lorraine region in the northeast of France, near to the borders with Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany. Nearby cities include Metz and Strasbourg . The district has an international link via Metz-Nancy-Lorraine Airport, which is about 16 miles (26 kilometres) north of Metz. Paris is 220 miles (354 kilometres) to the west.
