It’s ok
Overall the hotel is ok. It was clean, quiet, and the room was pretty comfortable. Also, very close to the train station heading into Düsseldorf. On the other hand, the internet was down all evening and night and the personnel could be a bit more welcoming. Smile sometimes, people!

Nice old building with character.
Nice old building with character. Room was spacious and clean. Nice breakfast was included. TV with a seperate setup box was a little bit of a hassle to get it running with 2 remotes. I liked it is on walking distrance from trainstation so a nice option if reasonable priced hotels in the area are full.

OK for budget
Stayed there for ProWein. The train station is 3 minutes walk away: S28 leaves at 8:06 to Düsseldrof Hauptbahof and the trip is 22 minutes: so not too much longer commute for much cheaper hotel. It makes sens to have dinner in Düssledorf, even at the Hauptbanhof, as there might not me much options in Mettmann. The hotel was clean and people were very nice. The sound isolation is very poor: I would recommend for the hotel to but new door seals and for the visitors to use earplugs if you want to sleep longer then 6 am: my room was two floors higher then the breakfast kitchen but I could hear when the kithcne stuff started to work in the morning at 6:00.

No hot water in the bathroom basin; double glazing is only decorative - lets sound in and heat out; some power points and lights not working in room; mattress and duvet very thin...

Everything fine, car required however.
Second time that I booked this hotel. No complaints, rooms and bathrooms were clean. Internet functional. Little to do in the area though.

Great value hotel in Mettmann
We were pleasantly surprised by the room and the breakfast. We were looking for an inexpensive overnight and Alte Fabrik exceeded our expectations. The only concern for some guests might be the road noise. It didn't bother us, but if you are sensitive to noise, request a room away from the main road.

Alles in allem in Ordnung
Alles soweit in Ordnung. Frühstücksbuffet war nicht so leicht auffindbar, und das Licht im Badezimmer hat durchgehend geflackert. Ruhige Lage, Hotel war leicht zu finden. Frühstücksbuffet für den Preis angemessen.

Das Beste draus gemacht?
Es wurde sich bemüht, das beste aus den Räumlichkeiten zu machen. Der Empfang war freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Suite sehr groß, dafür eher spärlich eingerichtet. Das Bett war nicht gut, ziemlich unbequem. Aber am schlimmsten: durch das riesige Wohnzimmer war es eiskalt dort - die Heizung war nicht an, so dass wir echt gefroren haben. Das Bad war ein nostalgisches Highlight mit alten Marmorfliesen... die Armaturen leider nur intuitiv zu bedienen.

Leider wirkt die Unterkunft ein wenig abgewohnt. Im Badezimmer von Zimmer 34 war dies besonders deutlich. Die Duschkabine war an einer Seite nicht mehr in der Führungsschiene, die Halterung für den Duschschlauch befand sich nicht richtig befestigt auf Kinnhöhe. Das Bett wirkte im ersten Moment durchgelegen, wir haben aber trotzdem sehr gut geschlafen. Leider fehlten auch Nachttischlampen. Das Frühstück war ausreichend und es wurde von dem freundlichen Mitarbeiter sofort wieder aufgefüllt.

Très bon hôtel fonctionnel à deux pas du centre ville et de la gare. Très bon petit déjeuner compris dans le prix sous forme de buffet varie. Je recommande 😊
