An amazing location, within easy walking distance of Santa Ana, Santa Lucia and Santiago squares. Luxury furnishings and amenities. Two bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom. And a pool and patio area for the ultimate in relaxation. Includes air conditioning throughout the house and laundry. Simply perfect! Casa Perro Loco has a perfect location for those who want to live in the center of the action and to be able to walk to enjoy the many parks, restaurants, cantinas and attractions of Merida. Within a few blocks of each of Santa Ana (near the famous walking avenue of Merida -- the Paseo de Montejo), Santa Lucia (with many of the best restaurants of Merida) and Santiago (with its market, shops, grocery store and pharmacy), there is literally no need for a car. You enter the home into the dining room and transported into the magic of the Merida colonial homes. The ceilings are nearly 7 meters high and have the thin beams known as "vigas". The pasta tiles, so loved in Merida, are colorful and add a richness to the decor. Meticulous attention was given to restoring this home and it is apparent in every room. The kitchen is large and well-equipped. A new island provides a large surface for meal preparation. Purified water is provided, so there is no need to be concerned. We provide you with basic kitchen equipment and appliances including a toaster and coffee machine so that you can fuel up with a satisfying breakfast to start your day. Coffee, creamer and sugar is provided -- no need to run to the nearest mini-mart for these basics. Also, every stay includes four free beers so you can start your vacation immediately upon arriving. The dining room leads to the living room, with a comfortable sofa and TV for family gathering. Entrances to the pool/patio area and the two bedrooms are found in the living room. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom is large with a small sitting area. There are glass doors which lead from the master bedroom to the pool/patio area. The hi thread count and premium cotton bedding and sheets are selected to ensure a good night's rest. Don't worry if you forgot your shampoo because both bathrooms are equipped with their own shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers. The patio is completely enclosed by high walls for privacy and security. The pool is a perfect size for cooling off. A washer and dryer are located in the closet off of the patio. The entire house is air-conditioned by mini split units to ensure your comfort no matter what season that you visit. Overhead fans are also in every room. All of the doors are screened. Extras \- Cooking essentials so that you can cook your own meals when you feel like staying in \- Washer and dryer with laundry detergent \- Purified water and ice \- Every bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers \- High thread count and premium cotton bedding selected to ensure a good night’s rest \- Hi-speed wifi is available throughout the house and patio \- Bluetooth speaker so you can listen to your own music \- 4 free beers - so you start start your vacation immediately upon arriving! Check-in & Check-out: Check in is available after 3pm. Check out is before 11am. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability at the sole discretion of the host. Early check-in availability is determined on the day of arrival and is a free courtesy to our guests. If you need a late check-out, then we might be able to permit it depending on the needs of our next guest, but we will charge a late check-out fee. General Rules: 1\. To book this space, you must be at least 21 years of age. 2\. The name on the reservation must match the person staying in the house. To verify, we may require a photo of ID of all people entering the property. 3\. Quiet hours are observed from 10pm to 8am on the interior and exterior of the property. The purpose of quiet hours is to maintain a quiet and comfortable environment for all guests and neighbors. 4\. No smoking inside the space. If a guest is found smoking or evidence of smoking is found after check-out there is a $500 USD fine. You may smoke on the exterior patios granted you use the provided ash trays. 5\. Please only flush toilet paper down the toilet. 6\. An excessive cleaning fee of a minimum of $75 USD will apply to any reservation which caused excessive cleaning services to be rendered. 7\. Guests are responsible for any breakage or damage to the property. Fees: \- The fee for overnight visitors above a total of 4 guests is $300 pesos per person per night. Any additional guests require prior approval from the host. \- One small (under 15kg) pet is welcome, but the guest is responsible for all damage caused by their pets. An extra pet fee of USD$75 will be charged. \- Electricity is included for stays of 2 weeks or less; and for stays of longer than 2 weeks, no electricity is charged unless the usage greater is USD$3 a day for the 1BR or 2BR homes, or USD$5 a day for the larger homes. \- Lost key or electric key fob will result in a US$20 charge. \- We are not responsible for any left items after check-out. If we do have to ship an item, there is a minimum of $50 (depending on the size of the items) shipping fee by host plus the shipping company cost to ship the item. It may take up to 14 days before we can ship the items. Additional notes: In order to keep the pool clean and maintained during your stay and for future guests, our pool staff is scheduled to service the pool twice per week. The total service should take 30 minutes to 1 hour. Merida is a hot and humid climate, and this climate tends to host insects. As a result, you may see insects in the house. We do monthly extermination to try to prevent problems but it's not a perfect solution. We also supply bug spray and citronella candles to assist. We are not responsible for any items brought into or left at the house. If you believe that you left something in the house after your departure, then please let us know. We will verify whether we have the item and share our office address so that you may pick it up. We will store any such items in our ‘Lost and Found’ located in our office for 30 days. If no one has come to claim those items within the 30 days, then we will dispose of it. Furniture and décor from pictures may differ. The tile floors and high ceilings are beautiful! Everything’s very clean. Beds are comfortable. The pool offers the perfect place to cool off with utmost privacy. It is exactly as the pictures show with modern kitchen appliances, bathrooms, comfortable beds, and a great patio area with a small pool. The owners and management team are exceptional ! They had great communication and always responded within minutes of any question or request. The house is perfectly located near several parks, restaurants and a market. The home is just as described, and actually better! Incredibly clean, well stocked, comfortable. Response times and guidance for questions leading up to our trip was remarkable. Very nice to have Beto shop for us before our late arrival so that we had some food waiting for us. He was very helpful in meeting us on arrival and answering all of our questions as first-timers in Merida. The location was perfect for our walks to Santa Lucia (our favorite plaza), the Plaza Grande, Mercado Lucas de Galvez (lots of stuff), Paseo de Montejo. Nice grocery store and market at Plaza Santiago. B y F arranged a driver to Uxmal, Choco-Story, and Mucuyche Hacienda and Cenotes--would recommend that trip. We rented a car and drove to Progreso for a day at the beach (and an interesting meteorite museum.) Overall found Merida to be a great place to visit, easy to get around (walking or driving) and the people are remarkably friendly. Would highly recommend Burro y Flauta! Thanks! ##### John Y. The listing was very accurate. Perro Loco is a very comfortable place to stay. The house is well maintained and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The courtyard by the pool was a tranquil place for morning coffee and a cool dip in the afternoon. It has great showers and laundry, plus comfortable beds and linens, sure to make your stay feel luxurious. The location is in a good neighborhood, not touristy and with modest road traffic. Wonderful restaurants are within a ten minute walk from the house, and we found the walk to favorite markets and restaurants was good to work off all the delicious food that is readily available. Our hosts were very helpful. Alberto was at the house to greet us when we arrived. He was amazingly responsive and very good at setting up a few day trips. Ask for Angel if you need a thoughtful driver or a knowledgeable guide to assist you. Only one small thing to note: the house only has Netflix, you need to have a streaming connection. However you really don’t need TV, Merida has so much to offer. We are sure to stay here again when we are in Merida. This is a lovely home. ##### Ray W. So many positives. Becca, the property manager, replied immediately to our enquires. Beto, our concierge, spoke perfect English and gave us a welcome tour of the property. They were very thorough in providing information about what needed to be known to allow a comfortable visit in their unit. They also provided lots of additional information about local restaurants and markets etc.. more importantly, names and numbers for English speaking doctors etc.... Beto gave his email and cell phone number. We had Mike’s, the owners cell phone number. We had a car and felt safe that if a problem arose we had a contact. We are seasoned travellers and were very impressed with the amenities and supplies within this unit. We ended up having to self isolate due to the Coronavirus. We were totally comfortable. They made our stay as smooth as could be. We were truly grateful to them for their responsiveness and support with things like getting groceries in advance of our arrival, child care for our son so we could go on a date, advice on things to do and more.
