"The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed dinner at the Hunt Club and the Clubhouse. Our room was very clean and decorated nicely. However the lighting was poor in our room and there was no outlet by the mirror in the hallway. It was hard for two ladies to get ready for dinner at the same time."

"Food in the 1878 restaurant was excellent. The food in restaurant near the bar was not as good. Ordered a schnitzel and it came out raw. The replacement was just a deep fried piece of breaded pork with no taste. Respectionist at check in and out was hard to understand and was not helpful. Resppectionist the next day to get second room was very good. The Golf course was excellent. Our room was okay but balcony sucked. Son's room was a loft and was great with a nice view. Would go back again using knowledge gained."

"The fact that the bedroom was a separate space with a door from the “living room” area was a fantastic feature that I wish all hotels offered. We were able to have a great time in the living area and have a separate space to sleep. The room did have a musty odor upon arrival but with the a/c on when we returned the smell dissipated. The sheets had a stain on it, I am assuming it was washed but a left over stain which was off putting but I understand it can happen. There was a stain on couch but again it happens. Overall really good stay. They had breakfast included which is always a plus along with free onsite parking. It is about 20 min from Lake Geneva which is great and had bars close by which was fun."

"The rooms that don’t overlook the lake are not worth the price. Unless you walk around the parking lot to the back of the property or go to the restaurant, you’ll never see the lake. The property is quaint but not very well maintained. The ceiling fan made a dreadful scraping noise so couldn’t be used, the ac came on and off all night loudly enough that it wakes you when it goes off and on. The room itself smells kind of musty, like it gets overheated and too humid inside. And while the room is pretty, it’s not as comfortable as we would have liked for the price. Both chairs in the room are pretty uncomfortable."
