The Cove Suite is located directly across the Bay from the quaint village of Mendocino. Just a short mile south of Mendocino this outstanding private location is set on the oceanfront bluffs of Chapman Point, a natural curve of land that reaches out into the Pacific and a twin to the Mendocino Headlands. The Mendocino Bay setting has dramatic views of the ocean and a direct view of the Mendocino Village across the Bay. Jan 18, 2017 Seriously, THE BEST Date of Stay Jan 1, 2017 Helpful votes: 0/0 Oh, my....this place is like a dream come true !!! The most obviously wonderful thing about it is the location. This is not, simply "water front" or "water views". This is a studio that is HANGING OUT over the ocean. No need to open the sliding doors to the deck to hear the ocean...you will hear it regardless ! I swear this is the best view I've ever had, and I have stayed in some pretty fabulous places. The studio was perfect for me and my dog. I am not sure what it is (although I'm going to ask) but this was the most comfortable bed EVER ! There is a wood stove for ambience and a little extra warmth (although the regular heat was more than adequate). Also, I was here the first two weeks of January and there were a lot of rainstorms, the little town of Mendocino lost power several times but Dan and Laura, (my hosts), have a generator, something that made me feel pretty smug as I looked out across the bay to see Mendocino in the dark. Dan and Laura are EXCEPTIONAL as hosts and as people. I had lovely conversations with them and during the storms, Dan checked in with me to make sure the generator was coming on as it was supposed to. They made sure I had everything I needed and since I was there two weeks, they even had the place "spruced up", arranging for the cleaners to come by with fresh towels and sheets..chocolates on the pillows...it really is in the details ! This place and it's hosts are really the best I've experienced. If you are traveling in the Mendocino area, don't miss this one. REALLY. DON'T MISS IT !!!!!! Thank you, Dan and Laura ! The accommodations were just right for a quick getaway. We also loved the setting. No traffic noise and surrounded by trees and relaxing nature. Situated cliffside above the waves, though close enough to experience the swell intimately. Secluded and private, yet a short 5-minute drive to the village and hiking trails. Breathtaking view! Wonderful property. The view is truly amazing and you can feel your whole body relax being at this place. Dan and Laura are great property owners to work with and have thought of everything you need. We enjoyed visiting Mendocino but coming back to this place and enjoying coffee in the morning with an ocean view. It was a great way to celebrate our anniversary (they left champagne for us) and we would love to return. The location is on the edge of a cliff. The views are the best you’ll find in Mendocino. The cottage is all floor to ceiling windows facing Mendocino Bay with the town in the distance. The deck has two Adirondack chairs overlooking the bay. The bed is perfectly located so when you wake up you’re seeing the view.
