Find hotels in Melincourt from £31

The best area to stay in Melincourt is within the village centre, particularly around the Place de l'Église.

This area is the heart of Melincourt, offering a traditional French village experience. You'll find a selection of local shops, a boulangerie, and a couple of small restaurants within easy walking distance. The streets are narrow and winding, leading to the historic church, which is a central landmark. It's a compact and pedestrian-friendly area.

Couples often find this area ideal for a romantic and relaxed getaway. Staying here means you're steps away from enjoying morning coffee and croissants, browsing local crafts, and experiencing the quiet pace of village life. Many guesthouses in this area feature gardens, great for enjoying a glass of local wine.

For those looking for a slightly more secluded experience with direct access to the countryside, the properties just outside the village centre, but still within a 10-15 minute walk, are an excellent choice. These often include larger gîtes or small hotels with more extensive grounds, offering views of the surrounding vineyards and fields.

The best time to go to Melincourt is during the late spring (May-June) or early autumn (September-October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

During these months, the weather is generally mild and agreeable, superb for exploring the vineyards and villages of the Bourgogne region. You'll find the countryside is at its most picturesque, with blossoming flowers in spring or the rich colours of the harvest season in autumn. This also avoids the peak summer tourist season, meaning you'll experience a more relaxed pace.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will particularly appreciate late spring when the gardens are in full bloom and the days are long, ideal for leisurely cycling tours or wine-tasting excursions. Many of the local châteaux and estates also offer special events during these times.

For those interested in the culinary delights and wine production, early autumn is exceptional. This period often coincides with the grape harvest, and many local producers offer unique tours and tastings that provide a deeper insight into the region's renowned winemaking traditions.
