With new COVID-19 rules and measures in effect, travel looks a little different in this day and age. Here's what you should know before you get on that plane to Megijima Island:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before locking in a flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as testing and quarantining.
• When you pass through airport screening, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to lower it briefly to verify your identity. Anyone refusing to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be denied boarding.

• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on bag. It must be no bigger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to remove it from your bag for X-ray scanning.
• Put any personal items (e.g, keys, phone and wallet) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA employee will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
