Medina of Fez Holidays from £199

Our original rating for this Fes Riad was a solid 5-Star: upon arriving we were warmly greeted. The check-in process was impressive, individual & professional. Moroccan tea & biscuits were consumed & then we were ushered to our gorgeous room: for dinner we went upstairs & enjoyed a terrific Moroccan meal. All good so far. You might be asking why did we then downgrade our rating from a solid 5-Stars to a 4? Please read on. Here is a couple of good reasons: no matter how hard we tried we couldn’t get the TV to work properly in the first night: we called the fella up 3 times. Finally & mysteriously it worked. Then no towels were placed in our bathroom to replace those taken away: we had to follow this up twice: the manager, out of frustration brought up the cleaning lady to our room as she was mystified as we were. Another incident: no toiletries replaced: tried 3 times & gave up. The next day we specifically asked for them. Another incident: we saw the manager in person the day before we needed to leave at 8.30am for a tour: she promised that if we could be seated at 8am for breakfast they would have it ready: we came at 7.50am & waited: nothing until 8.20am: we gathered what we could take with us & left unhappy. Big on promises, but failed in the delivery. Overall, we loved our room & our location but regrettably we also must say the service needs improvement as a genuine 5-star accommodation. Is it worth the money: Yes. Would we stay again: split vote: GreyNomads
