He drove us to his mothers restaurant for Italian food and was always available to answer questions. The location makes it an easy walk to restaurants, etc. The room was spotless, but tiny. The mattress is covered in plastic so the sheets slide off. I’m glad we chose this hostel as it felt like an Airbnb in Guatape. Oscar, the host welcomed us and said his home was our home for the night. It does have a view of the stone and the balcony was lovely to relax and to enjoy our breakfast. We got an upgrade to a larger space with 3 bedrooms for our group and it was very comfortable. We were able to walk downtown to Guatape at night / early morning to sight see and felt 100 safe in this area. Breakfast on the balcony was delicious. Had hoped for Colombian food but had to take into consideration it’s a hostel not a hotel. It was filling and very tasty. Oscar was one of 3 people my entire 1 week stay in Colombia who spoke English as he lived in the US for a bit. It was great to meet to meet him and share his home. The beautiful walk to the city centre is only 7 minutes over the bridge. Delicious breakfast served on the terrace, free secure parking in the back, safe environment in simple decorated but efficient rooms with hot water, television, and wifi that works very well. Caring staff that made my stay enjoyable.
