"This may be biased because we desired a quiet few days before more national parks (which are hectic). We did not know that we would be in a small quaint cabin in the woods by a gorgeous lake! It was amazing. We will go there again just for the stay, though Mammoth Lakes is a nice mountain town. Our small cabin had a full kitchen, though there is an upscale evening restaurant, a two person dining table, a porch (which was too cold to sit on at 20 degrees), and a small bathroom. It was just right. And it snowed for a bit. I would recommend the Tamarack Lodge to anyone who is traveling along the 395 or for anyone who just wants to get away from it all. It is 2 miles from the town so you feel like you are away from everyone in your own little world."

"Nice and spacious room. Include everything we need. I don’t really like the breakfast but it is just a minor point. Eventhough they are renovate It is pretty quiet and clean."

Only negs were the surprise fees (mandatory $35 / day for valet), the equally surprising $600 pre - charge for things you haven’t even bought yet, and the same breakfast options every morning. Regarding the latter, the scrambled eggs were GROSS every single morning."

"We loved our stay with the Sierra House, our room was so spacious, clean, and with mountain view. Check in was super easy, the lady at the front desk was nice and welcoming. Plenty of parking spaces. Breakfast included would have been amazing. Overall, just perfect and still within short distances to shops and restaurants. Our room feels we are so secure. We would go stay again if in the area. Thank you."

"My room was spotless, as were the grounds. My room was TINY - barely big enough for a bed. I traveled with just a small dog. It would have been very cramped for two people. So, room size was a drawback. On the plus side (beside its cleanliness). the complimentary buffet breakfast was SUPERB. (Anybody who says differently needs their head examined. ) There are only 15 units in the motel, but it offers a bvffet that beats the daylights out of big chains."
