Summary:
Perfectly situated in the heart of Mazama, this home sleeps ten and sits across the meadow from the Store and Pub. The open living space with Finnish soapstone fireplace, pizza oven, and dining for ten opens to a deck with sweeping views. Four bedrooms, including an en-suite king, queen, two doubles, and two twin beds, offer space to spread out. Direct access to ski, hiking, and cycling, plus games, puzzles, and a sledding hill for kids. Relax in the sauna after a day on the trails.
The Space:
Perfectly situated for all that Mazama has to offer, Aspen Rise is a well-appointed home for up to ten guests, just across the meadow from the Mazama Store, Goat’s Beard gear shop, the Public House restaurant, and the playground. Trails for cycling, hiking, and skiing are right outside the door, with beautiful views toward the meadow and mountains.
This spacious home features a fully outfitted kitchen, four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a Finnish soapstone wood-burning fireplace, an indoor pizza oven, sauna, and large deck accessed through French doors from the dining room. Central air conditioning keeps things comfortable in summer.
The open-plan main floor includes a bright living area, dining table for up to ten, and a well-supplied kitchen. Large windows fill the space with light and frame the surrounding landscape. A mudroom off the entryway provides plenty of space for boots, coats, and gear, and the adjoining laundry room has an oversized washer and dryer for convenience. The main-floor primary suite includes a king bed, window seat storage, and an en-suite bathroom with double vanity, shower, and in-floor heat during winter. Upstairs are three more bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a dedicated workspace.All bedrooms have dressers and spa bathrobes. The upstairs bath includes a full tub with shower and in-floor heat in winter.
A desk in the loft provides space for remote work with reliable Wi-Fi. Games, puzzles, and books are available for all ages, along with children’s dishes and cutlery. A “Pack N Play” and baby gates are provided. In winter, guests can sled from the deck down toward the ski trail, and a drying rack is provided for ski gear beside the fireplace.
The Neighborhood:
MAZAMA
The cabin is located in the Chechaquo Ranch community in Mazama, where all the properties are set back to the treeline and hillside surrounding the large meadow. This trail side property enjoys convenient access to the Methow Trails nordic ski trail system. It's a short ski, walk, or bike across to the Mazama Public House, or Mazama Store with its great bakery and grocery, Mazama is also home to the Goat’s Beard outdoor store (with mountain bike and fat bike rentals) and the Mazama Ski School for cross country ski hire and lessons.
NORTH CASCADES NATIONAL PARK
Aspen Rise is also conveniently situated for easy access to the North Cascades and the trailheads to many of the Park's world-class hiking trails. It’s under 20 minutes drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 25 minutes to Washington Pass and 30 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead.
Getting Around:
Getting Here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over State Route 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or via highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop. The nearest major airports are Spokane International Airport at 180 miles (year round) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (190 miles in summer / 260 miles in winter). Regional flights are also available at Pangborn Memorial Airport in Wenatchee located 102 miles away.
Getting Around: Nearest winter trail is Coyote Run which passes in front of the property and connects to Goat Wall Loop, and Flagg Mountain Loop. It's a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride to the Mazama Store. Winthrop is 15 miles / 20 minutes drive. Methow Motion provides a private car service throughout the Methow valley, and TRANGO offers a daily bus service between Mazama and Twisp.
Other Things to Note:
Aspen Rise comfortably sleeps eight, with a maximum of ten guests allowed.
While pets are NOT allowed in this cabin, the owners of the cabin do have pets and bring them during their stays. If you are highly allergic or sensitive to pet dander please do not book this cabin.
For winter stays a local snow plowing service takes care of the Chechaquo ranch road and the driveway. Please be patient after snow storms as they have many properties to clear. You may need to shovel the entryway area.
The Inn Pool - guests of our cabin may use The Inn at Mazama outdoor pool (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day) and tennis/pickleball court located at 15 Country Road in Mazama. The cost to use the pool is $10/guest/day and you should check in at the front desk before heading to the pool. The Inn also has a private offices available to rent by the day in case you need space to work during your stay.
