The accommodations are truly as described. Wonderful patio looking over ocean with plenty of turtles. Kitchen well equipped while living spaces have all the amenities. Comfortable place with just the right amount of space for 2 people.
The property was just the right size for our two couples. The property is meticulously maintained. The unit is appointed well, with everything you could need. The views from the master are stunning.
Very nice condo, exactly as owner described it. Owner is very helpful by providing complete information on the condo and things to do, places to eat in the area. We hope to return again.
Very well maintained pool and bbq area. We enjoyed visiting with nice friendly people while we worked out. The view was amazing! We will stay here again. A lovely place!
This place was wonderfully located! The house had a well stocked kitchen and the overall space was really well used which gave a roomy feel. We really appreciate the little extras like beach towels and a cooler! The condo was really clean when we arrived!
I stayed here with my family and the unit is wonderful! We had a beautiful harbor view and Barbara was very communicative and helpful. I would highly recommend this listing for anyone looking to stay in Maui away from the resorts!
We like to stay in condos so we can cook our own meals while in Maui. Most kitchens have adequate pot, pans, dishes etc. but this condo was equipped to cook anything and everything. And everything was in good shape. The view from the lanai was great and the living room comfortable. The king bed was ...
Hawaii’s largest aquarium, the Maui Ocean Center in Maalaea is a large complex exhibiting marine life mainly native to the Pacific Ocean. On your visit, you can get up close to turtles, rays and tropical fish. But one of the main attractions is the centre’s tiger sharks.
You can also spend time exploring the Maui Ocean Center’s rare exhibition of live coral. Its variety of coral comes from Maui’s native marine life, from beach shores right out to deep ocean reefs. Kids can get hands-on in the Tide Pool, home to a number of invertebrates found in rock pools.
From the Maui Ocean Center, you could head to Maalaea’s beach, which is popular with Maui Island’s native sea life. You’re quite likely to see humpback whales from the beach, and sea turtles frequently gather in Maalaea Bay. Book yourself on a boat trip from the bay out into the ocean, where you can snorkel, dive or stay on the boat for some whale watching.
Offering value for money, Maalaea’s hotels are mainly three-star and family friendly, especially those on South Kihei Road overlooking the bay. All hotels have outdoor pools and quiet gardens with picnic areas. And a number of hotels also offer spa facilities, including saunas, health clubs and furnished lanais, or balconies, so you can enjoy the Hawaiian weather from your room.
All hotel rooms near Maui Ocean Center are air conditioned and have free WiFi, TVs and DVD players. But if you’re looking to self-cater, use Expedia to find a condo with a kitchen and access to other hotel facilities.
Less than a 20-minute drive south of the Maui Ocean Center, Keawakapu Beach is one of Kihei’s most secluded beaches. There are often people practicing yoga on the beach, and the sea is usually busy with snorkellers. Humpback whales get extremely close to the beach during winter.
The Kihei Coastal Trail is a gentle walking route suitable for families. There’s plenty of local wildlife to spot on the walk, including many seabirds that nest not too far from the path.
