"The staff at Garden Island Resort are all so lovely and caring. The gardens at the front of the building are beautiful. The location is not great for snorkeling right from the resort though amazing diving and snorkelling is available close by. The pool is directly underneath a cauldron of bats, not 1-2 bats but close to 100. The bats are screeching constantly throughout the day and there are bat droppings on the pool deck. There are few close amenities and not much within walking distance. No airport shuttle was provided despite being listed as an amenity. This property appears to need some tender loving care. Our shower head did not work correctly and leaked, our ceiling fan did not work and our safe was not bolted down."

"Excellent place to stay. Walking distance to the grocery store and several restaurants. The house itself was clean. Each room has an air-conditioning unit that kept us nice and cool. Jason, the host was very helpful and accessible. Highly recommend."

"The staff are very good, but this property is very tired and in need of a major update. The pictures DO NOT look anything like what we stayed in. The air conditioning did not work, the toilet leaks (from the bowl), cleaning staff did not clean the room, ants are everywhere in the room. "

"My husband and 2 boys (5 & 7) had a wonderful stay at Vale Sekoula. Prior to booking, I messaged the host who responded quickly answering my questions and once booked, they were super informative of what to expect not only of their home, but our travel desires and what Taveuni had to offer. The caretakers Robert and Vinna are amazing! Robert picked us up at the airport, him and Vinna showed us around the house, and were so accommodating to our travel plans like going to the waterfall, snorkeling (on their boat), and water slides, which our kids loved. They can pretty much set up anything you’d like and are reasonably priced! They also have their own little stand where they sell homemade ice cream and seasonal produce. The house was beautiful inside and out— literally 2 min from the airport. The pool was perfect at all times of the day and the views were spectacular. The house was comfortable more than enough room for the 4 of us and family friendly too. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Taveuni! "

"Bure was great, staff and owners are great and go extra step to make sure everything is going well. Super wonderful stay and the lovely people really make this place shine. I've stayed here in the past several times with previous owners and it was wonderful then and its has not drop off at all. Loved the room, loved the restaurant and chef was very able to adopt to my allergy requirements. Food was excellent. Birds in the morning, stars at night, waves all the time. Fantastic. Can't wait to come back!"

"Staff very helpful. Non intrusive. Bures(cottages) very private and very well kept up and very romantic. Great food. Attentive wait staff Small venue. So it’s very private feeling. Amazing opportunities to snorkel very close by. Not on the best beach for a swim but can have a private experience on a private beautiful beach to yourselves 5 min boat ride away. Pool area well maintained. Tables at mealtime well spaced so can have own conversations. Opportunities to do some fun excursions. "

"What a sparkling gem to find Helen and Peter’s place to end our stay in Fiji. Just perfect for the 2 of us. Its quiet, amazing 180 degree views of the ocean and the islands,beautiful garden with the old gracious mango tree and comfortable bed, and value for money compared to our stays in resorts. Helen arranged for delicious home cooked Fijian meals to be delivered to our door at half of the price of elsewhere You can walk to other cafes and supermarket. Peter bought us home baked bread, coconuts , eggs and milk. Highly recommended would come in a heartbeat. Thankyou so much. "
