On arrival near the Riad, our host, Phillippe met us and took us on to the Riad.We used a lot of google translate with Phillipe (whose first language is French) and Sana (who speaks French and Arabic). Sana made us a delicious breakfast every day and dinner on one night. She is a great cook. Phillipe came in each day and made the fire up for us. If we needed anything like the paito gas bottle changed, he did this very promptly.The property is amazing and completely authentic. The hot tub is clean and easy to use. The room had air conditioning. The lounge/atrium had an open fire and a patio heater. I would suggest packing for both warm and cold in the winter, I don't know about the summer. I wish I'd brought some warmer gear for the evenings such as another jumper and tracksuit bottoms. We were very near to the Souk and lots of restaurants.We booked Said's taxi again for a trip up to the Atlas mountains, which is a must. He is a great guy and made that trip all the more magical with his knowledge of the area. We visited all the palaces and sites as well as the gardens. All are worth the trip, the earlier in the day, the better. This trip was in my top 5, made all the more amazing by the friendliness and attention of Phillipe, Sana and Said. Phillipe who oversaw the place is worth more than his weight in pure gold. We drove from the dessert across the high atlas mountains in a snow storm (seriously), arriving late at night in the rain. He didn't miss a beat. He escorted us home and had a cozy fire going!!! I could have cried from joy. The next day we realized I had left important medicine in the dessert. He went to the pharmacy for me and got me enough for the rest of the trip. Again, a life saver. Plus, he was funny, super kind and efficient. His advice was also very good regarding getting around Marrakesh, etc. Plenty of room, good bathrooms, linens, tv ought to be replaced (but no big deal). We had to use the hot tub next door (same owner) which was actually kind of nice after lots of walking. We ate at Un Dejeuner a Marrakesh, which we loved. A bit more sophisticated than the usual but down to earth and unpretentious. Rent this place. It's great. And thank you for letting us share. ##### Anna D. Nous avons vraiment apprécié l'emplacement et l'accès à tout ce que Marrakech offre. Mais nous avons surtout apprécié le service fourni par votre Riad. Nous avons adoré la cuisine de Sana et sa volonté de partager ses compétences avec nous. Nous avons apprécié l'attention de Phillips et le service que vous nous avez offert. Nous avons également apprécié les excursions avec Saiid dans la campagne. Dar Kamar est l'endroit idéal pour un logement familial et je le recommande vivement. Le Riad était magnifique, propre et très bien décoré, de plus il est très bien placé au cœur de la Medina. Merci à JJ le propriétaire pour son accueil, son suivi tout au long de notre séjour et pour ses conseils et à Sana pour sa délicieuse cuisine ! Il est idéalement situé dans la Médina proche des petits commerces et accessible à pied pour les visites et tres calme. Pour aller plus loin, des taxis sont a cote au palais de la Bahia.Tout est impeccable (propreté, clim, linge, wifi, belles chambres...) et le jacuzzi bienvenu pour se détendre. Le propriétaire nous a mis en relation avec un taxi pour venir nous chercher à l'aéroport et même nous emmener à Essaouira. Said le chauffeur est parfait. Tout comme Philippe qui nous a accueillis et nous a donné de précieux conseils. C'est une mine de renseignements avec une bonne humeur et une drôlerie incomparables. Il a été disponible durant tout notre séjour. Sanah qui s'occupe de l'entretien est une perle. Elle nous a préparé des petits déjeuners gargantuesques: jus d'orange pressé, thé à la menthe, café et pour manger à profusion et varie tous les jours. Elle s'est aussi occupée des lessives. Mes ados et moi avons adoré notre séjour dans ce riad. Ce nest pas que une location, il y a beaucoup de services en plus. Aucun point négatif ##### Yasmine V. Le séjour au sein du riad Dar Kammar fut très agréable. Calme, confort et propreté. Le riad est encore plus joli en vrai que sur les photos. Communication with Jean Jacques was easy. His manager Phillipe was wonderful. He was very attentive and did everything possible to make our stay everything we wanted even though my French was poor. Phillipe organized a team to facilitate all of our activities that we requested. Sanaa was very friendly and made great breakfast. Said was accommodating, courteous and extremely helpful in organizing our trips about. Omar provided us a great walking tour of the medina. The riad was amazing and spacious. It was decorated impeccably to provide a wonderful sense of the city. The jacuzzi was a great addition after a long day. We felt the neighborhood was very safe, and once you learned the turns it was easy to navigate. Overall this was a wonderful vacation because of the choice of this riad and the people that helped us have a great stay. ##### Matthew H. It was incredibly clean, quiet (though the call to evening prayer could be heard at times, but wasn't disturbing), and had lovely little touches like interesting art and decor. Phillippe met us the night we arrived and was so helpful and very nice. He only speaks French, but my husband is a French speaker so that worked out well. The riad is down one of the narrow little lanes in the medina, a short walk from the main square with tons of restaurants and shops. We had our breakfast prepared each morning by a lovely woman who's name I'm now forgetting, but that was such a treat. She can also prepare dinner, which we did once - delicious. The roof deck is great, has a hot tub which the kids loved. The downstairs bedroom is a little musty, but once we opened the bedroom doors and put the a/c on, it was fine. It was very hot the week we were there, but each room had a/c so it was perfectly comfortable. The only issue was the one night the power went out just in our riad (somehow the main switch tripped), and we couldn't get in touch with Phillippe, so we spent one VERY hot and uncomfortable night there. He arrived the next morning and sorted it out, but unfortunately, we didn't get a wink of sleep! Aside from that, it was a great experience. ##### Natasha M. Le riad est magnifique, bien situé dans la médina, au calme tout en étant proche du cœur de la ville. Jean-Jacques nous a accueilli à proximité pour faciliter notre arrivée en voiture et a mis tout en œuvre pour que nous puissions nous garer dans un parking sécurisé a quelques pas du riad. Il a été présent tout au long de notre séjour pour nous conseiller les meilleures adresses et de bons conseils pour s'adapter aux us et coutumes des marrakchis. Sanna qui s'occupe du riad nous a préparé de sublimes repas et à gérer toute l'intendance comme à l'hôtel. Nous n'avons pu rencontrer Nathalie qui était en France, mais elle nous a contacté régulièrement avant notre séjour pour nous donner toutes les indications pour notre arrivée. En conclusion allez y les yeux fermés, nous regrettons déjà d'être rentrés, et merci encore à Nathalie, Sanna et jean-Jacques de nous avoir si bien accueillis. ##### Anne-Gaëlle T. He arranged and actually walked us to a spa for a wonderful massage which was half the price of most other places. Sanha, the housekeeper, cooked an incredible dinner for us and was quiet like a mouse when cleaning up the Riad while we were there. Mais ce n'est par tout, Shana vous prepare tous les matin votre petits déjeuner avec des petites crêpes Marocaines à tomber par terre. Le soir si vous voulez rester tranquille et vous reposer d'une journéee de quad dans le désert ou d'une ballade dans le souk, vous pouvez dinêr à DAR KARMAR en commandant le matin le plat de votre choix à Shana. Je recommande sa salade d'aubergine, son tagine de poulet au citron confit et olive , son cousous, sa Tongia. Gouter la gastromie de Shana c'est l'adopter pour tout le reste de son séjour. Chacun y a trouvé sa place dans ce riad hyper centre,calme, très bien équipé pour une famille de 9 personnes,très beau riad. Notre Hôte JJacques , très présent, attentif, a sût nous diriger vers toutes nos demandes, dans Marrakech et hors Marrakech, organisant au mieux nos excursions, Sans oublier l'admirable Shana sans qui nous n'aurions pas découvert toutes les subtilités gustatives locales, avec toujours une extrême discrétion .Si je retourne à Marrakech ce sera à Dar Kamar ##### lili b. "Très agréable séjour en aout 2013 dans un logement spacieux (3 chambres avec chacune leur propre salle de bains), salon, cuisine, terrasse avec jacuzzi Seule la clim d''une chambre ne fonctionnait pas à notre arrivée. heureusement, un ami du propriétaire vivant sur place a trouvé un technicien qui a pu résoudre le problème. L''accueil était ainsi chaleureux et nous nous sommes tout de suite sentis à l''aise. La cuisine typiquement marocaine était très bonne, le logement très propre. Il est situé à quelques pas de la place jamaa el fna suffisant loin pour ne pas entendre la cohue nocture, suffisant près pour rejoindre la cohue nocture à pied sans trop marcher. Nous avons tout particulièrement apprécié la décoration, l'aménagement des chambres avec leur salle de bain privative et surtout la terrasse.
