It was spacious and comfortable and cozy at the same time. For us, finding special houses is part of our vacations, and this house fully lived up to our expectations. We like to cater for ourselves and very much enjoyed the fully equipped large kitchen. The terrace was a great place for having outside meals or just enjoy reading. Also Aldbourne was a beautiful place to be. It was easy to settle in and the beds and bedding were divine. We stayed for three nights and wished we had booked longer. Waking to birdsong was lovely and the kids enjoyed the large yard. Cooking was a dream in the lovely kitchen, but there are two fabulous pubs within an easy walk. The post office cafe was great and both the deli and the co-op provide shopping. The house itself is very pretty, the rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated and we found it to be cool when returning from our excursions during the heatwave. The property is in a great location to explore far and wide. We found it easy to go up to Oxford and down to Southampton (with everything in between!) The whole property is wonderful, looks to be newly decorated with great bedrooms and bathrooms. The lounge was amazing, with a great fireplace that we easily lit with the plentiful wood stored outside. The kitchen had everything we needed and was very large so plenty of space for five adults to move around - often tough with the pretty but small cottages in the area. We had a great meal at the local pub, and found all the food essentials we needed in the local co-op. The area is very pretty and there is plenty to keep you occupied. The house itself, the way Justin and Louise mixed the modern and the traditional, the huge amount of books and games, the comfy upholstery (though I personally would add a bunch more cushions), the lovely blankets, the sheer abundance of loos (I kid you not), the way no room on the second floor is at the same level and the lovely art and deco touches - it really is outstanding!
