"Absolutely loved our time at Basecamp. The location is perfect, at the edge of the Masai Mara, we heard the lions at night, while sleeping. The staff all of them, were so friendly and helpful from the front staff to the night guards. Camp on a river, so you see the animals come for water, open view to see them roaming across the river! "We paid for our stay in full months in advance. When we arrived, the lodge was closed. We were told the owner had passed away.
While this is a tragic situation, it is not an excuse for leaving paying guests without any notice. No one contacted us, cancelled our reservation, or arranged alternative accommodation.
