Cabin at the river of the little owls!! 2 bedroom cottage directly on the river.

  • Final touches are complete. Updates include new custom kitchen with concrete counters and stainless steel appliances, new bathroom with walk in shower and all around general updates. Cozy 2 bedroom home is located directly on the Kokosing river thought to translate from the Algonquin Indians and mean “River of the Little Owls.” The cabin is a short distance to Kenyon College, Apple Valley lake, Ohio Amish country and tons and tons of great parks, hiking trails, bike trails and hunting. Great fishing off of the banks in the back yard. Numerous different wildlife spotted including eagles, hawk, mink and deer. Kayaks and canoe provided for your use. Large deck to enjoy river view, outdoor shower and soaking tub (ready for use when weather cooperates). WiFi and internet based TV on 42" flat screen. We are pet friendly, dogs only. ($50 per stay, maximum 2 dogs).

My wife and I came here for an anniversary trip and loved it. The house is secluded, well kept, and inviting. We enjoyed the various amenties offered including the deck firepit, outdoor shower, and hot tub. The road is very close to the house but you don't really notice it.

We arrived the afternoon of a snow storm and it was a beautiful winter wonderland. Our host Al reached out the following morning and coordinated a time to come by to clear the deck, walkways and the driveway. We came back to a clear area so we could enjoy the hot tub and the fire pit on the back deck. Being closer to the road I worried at first but when you’re inside the sound you hear from any traffic is very minimal. We are planning a stay in the summer to enjoy the river activities. We did have visitors in back of several deer and a couple raccoons that were very curious one evening. This place is a little hidden gem.

Short, serene getaway

Had a pretty amazing week here with the wife, kid, and dogs. Sunsets on the back porch from the hot tub were incredible. Fully enclosed back porch was very helpful with the dogs. Overall the place was very baby and dog friendly.

Was clean and had everything you would need. Nice fire pit and hot tub, with a short walk to the water in the back yard. Was easy to get to, and a short drive to restaurants and stores. Everything is exactly as advertised.We were especially surprised at the complementary pumpkin bread and wine left for us to start the weekend. That was definitely a first for us of all places we've stayed throughout Ohio.
