OVERSIZED PORCH, LAKE FRONT, Mammoth Cave, Fast WiFi, Firepit, hiking
Lakeside Paradise is a spacious resort cabin located on beautiful Nolin Lake in the Mammoth Cave region of Kentucky. We are open for vacation rentals during the summer months. This 1340 sq. ft. cabin has 3 Br., 2 baths, a fully equipped kitchen, custom oak cabinets, living room with sofa and love seat, flat panel TV, and central heat & air. There is a large covered porch with gas grill and picnic table overlooking beautiful Nolin Lake. All that you need to bring is food and lake towels!!
On Nolin Lake you are able to enjoy swimming, skiing and fishing. Other activities nearby include cave tours, museums, golf, hiking, horseback riding, shopping and live theatre.
We are located only 8 miles from the north entrance of Mammoth Cave National Park and only 30 / 45 minutes away from other show-caves and area attractions
Please be advised Nolin Lake is owned by the US Corp of Engineers and is used for flood control. Lake access is best during the summer as the Corp lowers the lake (25 / 30 feet) starting late October. Due to the flood control aspect of the lake, the walk up and down to the water can be steep and some guest might find it difficult.
Boat parking at the dock is no longer available as the Corp of Engineers restricts rented properties from using a permitted boat dock. There is a boat ramp 1/4 mile away that you can launch and recover your boat very easily with parking at the ramp (parking can be limited on weekends). Swimming is available off the shoreline here, gradual entry and somewhat beachy in front of the house.

Stayed at Paradise on the Lake for 3 days during fall break with our family of 5. Loved that everyone had their own bed and a separate bathroom for the kids. The property was very clean and nicely stocked with essentials. Location on the lake was perfect with a very conveniently located boat ramp! Will stay again!
We really enjoyed staying at this house. Had everything we needed. Access to the lake was easy. We loved the view from the porch, pictures don't do it justice! There was lots of outdoor seating. House was very clean. Rooms were spacious.
Nice first floor. Really tight upstairs for adults but works for some. The view is everything for this property. Walk to and from dock is hard so if any health issues could be difficult.
We had such a great time. Beautiful home, comfy beds, all the amenities of home. We kept busy with hiking, cave tours, kayaking, and had plenty of time to enjoy this home. Enjoyed the back deck, grilled out and watched scary movies in the projector we brought. Loved waking up to views of the lake too! Tim and Roxie were great with communication and quick to reply to any questions we had.
We loved the house, location, and our stay. Everything that you could possibly need was provided. The boat ramp at the end of road was so convenient to put our kayaks in and out of the water. The driveway is steep and small but I was able to maneuver a small 8’ trailer around the whole weekend. Everything worked out perfectly. The porch has an amazing view of the lake. We all loved it. I highly recommend!
Great location. Adorable house. Beautiful view! We saw deer every day, caught some fish, and saw a bald eagle fly over. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 pre teens. The house was the perfect size. Only negatives were that there was no table to eat at other than outside which would have been fine if it hadn’t been 90 and super humid :). Also, showered are small. A bigger framed person may have trouble maneuvering. Other than. That it was absolutely wonderful!
The house has an awesome view of the lake. The dock is a real short walk to the bottom of the property. I was able to put in my boat and leave it in the water the entire trip. The ac stopped working and I was able to talk with the owner directly. She sent a technician out and it was back on quickly. Spacious a frame house with comfortable beds. The deck is so big we could played corn hole while grilling out.
When we arrived we found our accommodation clean and secure. The location was beautiful! We appreciated there being some seasoned firewood for the fire pit too. However, there were some issues we found over the course of our three night stay. First, the master bedroom had only a full-size bed. Not ideal, doable, but not ideal. The mattress was as hard a a rock. My husband and I did not sleep well. The HVAC system’s thermostat was set to a desirable temperature. However, we found that though the system was running no air was moving through the vents in the master bedroom, bathroom or living room. We tried opening windows to ventilate (it was actually quite warm our first day with highs in the 80s) but most windows lacked screens letting in bugs or they were stuck. The shower in the master bath dripped constantly. The toilet at one point would not stop running; my husband had to fix it. There were zero outlets in the master bath, so all hair drying had to happen in the bathroom off the kitchen. However, the outlets in there were not GFCI outlets (definitely not up to any code and not safe to use if the shower had been recently used). No fans in either bathroom. I’m glad we’re not a tall family (we top out at 5’8”) because the ceilings all topped out at 6’. The counters were too low to comfortably eat at (4’), and the stools were VERY uncomfortable and too high for those counters. A small dinner table would’ve been better. There’s room for improvement!
Great rustic cabin stay for our family! Great communication and easy instructions. Easy check in and check out. LOVED being right on the lake where we could walk down and be right on the water! Beautiful sunrise! Easy to get to Mammoth Cave and surrounding areas. Thanks for the great stay and memories!
We had a nice stay with extended family. The location and view were beautiful. We didn’t realize the two upstairs bedrooms were connected which ended up being ok for our group but may be a deal breaker for some. The general amenities throughout the house are pretty basic, but everything is functional. Overall a decent stay for a decent price.
We loved staying at Paradise Lake House while we spent most of our time at Mammoth Cave - it takes about 35 minutes to drive on enjoyable roads. We were hoping to eat all our meals on the porch overlooking the lake but it was a bit too cool in April until our last day.
My family had a wonderful time relaxing at this home. We loved the beautiful view from the porch and enjoyed some fishing by the lake. We also saw a lot of beautiful deer around the house in the mornings and evenings, which made it even more peaceful. We spent time exploring the shops in Cave City, and the two nights went by way too fast! The only minor challenge we had was figuring out where to take the trash, and the GPS initially led us to the house at the top of the hill. Thankfully, we were able to find the right place quickly by comparing it to the photos.Fair warning — if you’re out of shape like me, the walk back up from the lake will definitely get you winded, but it’s absolutely worth it. We even caught a large catfish in the short time we had to fish!I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.
