The cottage is like home from home and helped me with my treatment. A real home from home. The parking arrangements are absolutely fine, there’s always space. Sherston is a great little community, it is very convenient having a shop and several eateries within easy walking distance. And the residents are very friendly. We visited Tetbury, Cirencester and westonbirt, they are all within easy reach. Any questions regarding the cottage were dealt with quickly and efficiently and in a friendly manner. The cottage was very tastefully decorated, with many nice little touches, and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the main bedroom had a nice view of the back garden and picturesque landscape beyond it. We didn't use the garden much but it was a peaceful place to sit and watch the lavender grow. We enjoyed walks around Sherston, usually ending up in the local pub (The Rattlebones) which is a great spot to have a pint, meet locals and other tourists, and they do great pizza. In the village there is also a small co-op grocery shop which is surprisingly well stocked. The cottage kitchen has everything needed to prepare and have meals, which is also nice. Communications with the owner were very pleasant and timely. We didn't have any problems other than that we were sad to leave. We would definitely come back to the Lilly Bee when we are next in the Cotwsolds. ##### John A. The overall experience was delightful, and we found the location wonderful for visiting the nearby towns and stately homes. The cottage itself is cosy and beautifully decorated. We noticed the great care and attention given to every detail; everything was practical and aesthetically pleasing. The kitchen was well-appointed, and the small garden was absolutely charming. While the second bedroom is much smaller than the main bedroom and offered limited storage, this was adequate for our needs and did not present a problem during our stay. The only noteworthy negative was related to heating. Since we were there in October, it was already quite cool. We only received one starter fire pack, which was insufficient for our stay, and we ended up spending significantly more on supplemental heating than anticipated. We also noted there was other wood available, but we were instructed not to use it. While this increased our costs, it did not diminish our enjoyment of your lovely property, which we would highly recommend for a short stay. ##### Sarah M. The location just off Sherston high street is ideal, with easy parking and a short walk up the High Street to The Angle cafe, the local COOP and The RattleBone pub ... pretty much everything you'll need. There's a well-equipped playground a short walk away and lots of local walks. The house is gorgeous and ideal for a short break - our daughter loved the elegant French bed in the small bedroom and we enjoyed waking up to views over the fields from the back of the house. From a partner site ### 8/10 Good 15 Jul 2024 #### Idyllic Stay at Lilly Bee Cottage We stayed at Lilly Bee Cottage for four nights and our only regret was that we couldn't have stayed longer. The cottage is beautiful, the photos don't do it justice. It is so tastefully decorated with lovely little touches everywhere and the garden (unfortunately we couldn't use it much because of the weather) has two lovely seating areas with relaxing views over the countryside. The village of Sherston is very quaint with a Co-Op, Post Office, The Rattlebone Inn, which serves very good food and a great coffee shop The Angel just a short walk from the cottage. Parking can be a bit tricky but we always managed to get a spot on the main street close to the cottage. We couldn't recommend the Lilly Bee enough, it was so cosy that most nights we ate at home because we looked forward to coming back to the cottage in the evening. We hope to return to Lilly Bee again. From a partner site ### 8/10 Good 6 Dec 2023 #### A very cosy cottage, in a great location We had a really lovely stay - the cottage is beautifully presented and in a lovely village. It provided a great base for a visit to the Cotswolds. Our only slight disappointment was that we had an issue with the lock on the front door which resulted in us having to climb out of one of the windows. These things happen- but we were surprised when the property manager said the issue started with the previous guests. It was a miss not to communicate the issue with us. From a partner site ### 8/10 Good #### Anne-Michele B. 26 Feb 2024 #### Perfect escape to the Cotswolds but let down by poor standards from the cleaning team. We had a wonderful stay at Lilly Bee Cottage, the owners have lovingly restored this 17th century cottage with such charm & attention to detail. From the moment we walked in we started to unwind, we had the most wonderful, relaxing stay was all over far too quickly for our liking! My only criticism is the owners have been let down by the cleaning team. The place needed a good dust - the coffee tables, bedside tables and kitchen table had clearly not been hadn't been touched since the previous guests and there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The bedsheets and towels however were clean and fresh. ##### Anne-Michele B. From a partner site ### 10/10 Excellent #### Nicky B. 8 May 2025 #### Last minute long weekend We stayed at Lilly Bee over the May bank holiday weekend as a last minute decision. The booking process was simple and instructions on how to gain access etc were sent promptly. We had a small issue (caused by ourselves) for which I had to contact the owner. She responded immediately and was extremely helpful and accommodating. We had a lovely weekend - the location is excellent for dog walking, with plenty of beautiful walks right on the doorstep, as well as being right near a local shop and pub. The garden was gorgeous, with beautiful views and we particularly enjoyed sitting on the decking area with a drink in the evening. The only slight disadvantage to us were that the garden walls were quite low, so we had to keep an eye on the dog to ensure he didn't jump it - just something to be aware of if you have a dog that might try to do this! Overall the cottage was spotless and well equipped. We didn't find the BBQ but then it does say this is available during the summer and it was only the start of May.
