Alexandra Hotel

Alexandra Hotel

8/10 Good
"We stayed at the hotel for three nights. It is centrally located and easy to get around from there. The hotel is nice and clean, and feels cozy even though it is a bit worn. The staff is helpful and very welcoming. The breakfast was nice - there were many warm dishes, bread, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, granola, juices, coffee, tea and cocoa. We had a room on the 4th floor from which we had a view of both the mountains and the water."

"Es war ein eigenartiger, für mich unangenehmer Geruch im Hotelzimmer. Das Gewand hat den Geruch total angenommen."

Nevis Bank Inn

Nevis Bank Inn

8/10 Good
"The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was decent and the rooms were clean and comfortable. One of our ground floor rooms was next to the car park which was a little disconcerting, but not noisy, so that was a relief. Another ground floor room looked onto an alley, but was clean and comfortable. Overall we would probably use this hotel again. We enjoyed exploring Fort William and Neptune's Staircase and saw wonderful scenery. We were traveling by train (no car) so were limited as to where we could get to on the bus and by walking. The hotel is a fairly short walk from the train station just outside Fort William town center."

Frequently asked questions

What dining options are typically available in Mallaig ski accommodations?
The best dining options in Mallaig ski accommodations typically include half-board or self-catering, suiting different preferences for flexibility and convenience. Most accommodations in Mallaig offer half-board, which usually includes breakfast and dinner. This is a great option for those who want their meals taken care of after a day on the slopes, allowing them to relax without the worry of cooking or finding a restaurant. Breakfasts are often hearty, setting you up for the day, and dinners usually feature local produce and traditional Scottish dishes. For travellers who prefer more independence, self-catering is a popular choice. Many apartments and lodges come with fully equipped kitchens, including ovens, hobs, and refrigerators. This allows you to prepare your own meals, which can be particularly convenient for families with specific dietary needs or those who enjoy cooking together.
How much does a ski hotel in Mallaig cost?
Prices for ski hotels in Mallaig can vary, but you can find a great deal on Expedia. What activities should we do in Mallaig besides skiing?
The best areas to stay in Mallaig are within the village centre itself or along the immediate coastline, offering convenient access to its main attractions.Mallaig is a small, working fishing village, so the village centre is the heart of activity. It's very walkable, with views of the bustling port and the Isle of Skye in the distance. For couples, staying in the village centre provides easy access to the ferries for island hopping to Skye or the Small Isles (Rum, Eigg, Muck, Canna). You can enjoy a meal at one of the local seafood restaurants right by the harbour or take a scenic walk along the coastal paths starting from the village.Families might prefer accommodation a little outside the immediate harbour area but still within walking distance of the village. This provides a slightly quieter setting while still being close enough to easily catch the Jacobite Steam Train, visit the Mallaig Heritage Centre, or explore the small sandy beaches nearby, like those found a short drive north towards Morar.
