"Always a wonderful stay at this cabin- quiet, comfortable, with the beauty of the lake right outside. Reading and hikes during the day, watching the sunset and maybe a movie at night. The kitchen is simple but always seems to have what I need. This is my 3rd visit and I'll be coming back again!"

"Our family of 5 had a great stay here. House is exactly as advertised and the lake is beautiful. Kids loved swimming (note you do have to navigate some boulders by the dock), playing on the kayaks and canoe, fishing, and making s’mores by the fire pit. "Down East day trip locale perfected! Bring your whole family and rent all three suites. The hosts have accomplished absolute magic in their herculean efforts to make this building a draw for the town. They succeeded wildly, with only a few new-lodging quirks to work out. The design is just enough, with subtle details somehow receding into the character of the moment rather than feeling obvious and cliché. We have been waiting for years to see what might be accomplished here, with not high hopes....

They even had things like a portable high chair and pack n play available for anyone who might travel with little guests and a little dog bed and dog dishes for anyone with a smaller dog. "Four humans and one dog stayed at the BRH while in town for a canoe race! The house was welcoming and perfectly clean. Plenty of towels, blankets and a kitchen stocked with appliances that we cooked in. Nice neighborhood for dog walks and easy to get to grocery stores! Check in and out process was seamless and everything was accurately represented! Would certainly highly recommend!!"

"Can’t say enough good things about this house. It was perfect. Every detail was thought through from the abundance of cozy blankets to the cute fireplace heaters in every room. The house was super clean and just perfect. We only had two adults staying a few nights for work travel (pretending it was a girls week lol) but I could see it comfortably fitting lots of people as there was so much space! I wish it was warmer out so I could have taken advantage of the outside spaces. Hope I get to come...

"We came up for the eclipse extended weekend and were pleasantly pleased with how friendly and thoughtful our host was. She took the time to show us around and made sure we had everything we wanted. The house was very clean and as advertised (actually it was better than pics!). We arrived Saturday evening and the host was very attentive, friendly and welcoming. They left us 2 pair of eclipse glasses, bottle of wine and plenty of kitchen/bathroom amenities. The pellet stove was simply fantastic!...

"We came to town for Umaine graduation. The house was beautiful. Michelle our host was great! We had everything we needed. The fire pit was very relaxing while watching a beautiful sunset. We hope to make it back someday."

"Plenty of private sleeping space for 6. Very quaint log cabin decor. Photos accurate. Bonus upstairs screened in balcony shared by 2 bedrooms. Nice space to grab a quiet minute or read. Stayed in April. Early in the season to really get to enjoy the lake. Docks not installed yet. Easy ride to Arcadia and Bar Harbour which was a nice way to spend a day."

"Very nice warm house in the woods, remote, great opportunity to bond with family and nature, and if you need to get away from the harshness of city/urban life. Responsive host. Made it as base to Bar Harbor and Acadia and nearby small towns. We all had a wonderful time. Internet a bit slow can improve maybe but i guess its normal for the area. "

"This little house is beyond cozy. It’s comfortable, well equipped, warm, and just as cute as it can be. We stayed for one night so we could attend commencement at University of Maine, but I’ll admit I didn’t want to leave. If I’m ever back in the Orono/Old Town area, this is my first choice. The only negative was that I had to leave."
