It is close to the metro and the Atocha train station, which was very convenient if one intends to do day trips. Many tourist destinations can be reached by walking. The cafes nearby are mostly frequented by locals and we had some interesting conversations. The host, Santiago was very responsive and accommodated our early morning arrival. The apartment is lovely and so comfortable. The location is in a real neighborhood but incredibly close to the tourist attractions and museums of Madrid. The kitchen is well appointed for simple cooking and the laundry is handy for light packers. The building is quite quiet at night for comfortable sleeping. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. This is in the top 2 VRBOs we've rented over the years. We plan to return in the future. Santiago is a gracious host! There is a market just across the street. It is within walking distance of some major sites, if you don’t mind walking a little bit. While parking is available, it is best to park a few blocks away. Santiago is a fantastic host. He was easy to communicate with and met us when we arrived. He showed us the apartment and explained everything we needed to do.
