The space was comfortable and clean. The kitchen was pretty well stocked in both pans and staples. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. Place was very clean, one of the cleanest I have been in. And I regularly stay at hotels. I have allergies and was not bothered AT ALL through my stay. No stray hairs or anything like that. There were a couple bugs, but I think we let them in and we were surrounded by trees so it is expected. It does not have mountain views as advertised and appears to be in the middle of several renovations with many upgrades of a DIY quality. The home desperately needs a thorough dusting—cobwebs hang from ceilings, walls, window sills, etc. The refrigerator was so full of half eaten food (egg shells, cheese, jellies, etc) and condiments there was hardly room for our groceries. The bathrooms had half used bars of soap and shampoo bottles. Perhaps the owner is trying to provide amenities by placing these items, but it feels more like walking into someone’s home with their used supplies sitting around then entering a vacation home. Clearly areas of the kitchen and bath had not been cleaned because they were cluttered with items. While I respect the request to remove shoes when on the carpet (and we obliged), the wooden steps between bedroom and living rooms were extremely slippery and resulted in my elderly father and preschool-aged child falling down the stairs. A skid-proof strip or warning to bring slippers with treads would eliminate this serious fall situation. I also had to reach out to the owner to obtain check in information. Also, the neighbors tick-infested dogs were onsite throughout our stay.
