The cabin has a shaded deck that overlooks a serene pond full of Bream and Bass and it is only a short walk to Robinson River for great Trout fishing. A five minute drive will take you to the trail head of "White Oak Canyon Falls" or ten minutes to "Old Rag Mountain", two of Virginia's most acclaimed hiking trails, complete with water falls and rock scrambling. It is also only fifteen minutes from the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway for lovely drives or numerous other hiking trails. There are several Civil War battle sites within easy driving distance, for those history buffs in your family. The cabin is fully furnished with linens, dishes, microwave, and fireplace, etc. Dialup internet is available for those who just can't unplug. Check with your internet provider for access numbers. The only reason I knocked 1 star off was because the property is 100% cut off (as is the entire area) of any cell service. The house has no wifi and you can't get cell signal so you are 100% off-grid. Nowadays, I don't really focus on that when renting a property because I assume there is going to be wifi at the very least. So this one caught me a bit off guard. I'll reiterate that there was absolutely no false representation here by the owners, so this is 1000% on me, but just so everyone knows, you will be off grid.We stayed 2 nights and after an initial adjustment, it actually was rather nice: a kind-of forced disconnection that I probably wouldn't have signed up for but after it was done, was somewhat refreshing. They do have an extensive DVD collection to entertain after dark. The owners are very communicative and helpful and I would highly recommend them. ##### Joseph I. The cabin is very cozy and private, although there are neighbors but no one too close. It is very dated and better not suited for kids under 4 yrs of age ( because of the wood stove location and outlets) The pond view is very pretty. We visited a few local wineries. Overall, we had a very relaxed stress-free weekend. We would definitely return. I bet fall is beautiful there. It is not handicapped accessible. ##### Stephanie B. The balcony does face the pond, but couldn't see much of it because some small tree branches block the view. I would have liked to see more of the pond from the balcony.
