I chose Aiyanar because it was one of the most highly rated resorts in the area. Imagine our disappointment when we were told that we couldn't go diving because their dive masters were already fully booked. The resort staff made no effort to find free-lance dive masters from the other resorts around the area to accomodate our request. (in fact, they told me the bad news only when I followed-up our booking at 7 pm, despite my having made my request at 3 pm.) I ended up frantically having to make my own calls that night, and fortunately was able to find a nearby dive resort that could accomodate our request for the kids to do introductory dives. The rooms were excellent (although there wasn't any shampoo in one of the four rooms that we had booked), and the service was generally very excellent. But our weekend vacation was almost spoiled because we almost weren't able to go diving.
