Fantastic hotel

A stylish and characterful hotel in a 19th century building, which was previously flats - one of which (on the 3rd floor) was the home of the famous writer James Joyce. The hotel celebrates its literary heritage, with a selection of books in each room, and also a comfortable and tastefully furnished reading room. Unlike some hotels which purport to have libraries, this is the real thing - it is well stocked with high brow literature by or about Joyce and other famous writers from Trieste, in...

Lovely stay, very pleasant owner.

Arriving at the property, 1st thoughts were not good! We had been given instructions by message of how to enter the building and were told our room was on the third floor and that there would be no staff present. We went up in the small lift to the 3rd floor, entered the door code and retrieved our room key from the table just inside the door. The cleaner was still present and confirmed that our room was ready. She was very pleasant and showed me to a small balcony off the hall where I could...

V nice centrally located..great breakast in outside... it would've been good to know it was located in a pedestrian street to pre warn taxi driver and for us to be prepared to carry bags 100m

We had equested a room on a low floor and were disappointed to have been allocated a room on the 5th floor! They then offered us a room on 4th floor! Eventually we got a room on the 1st floor. But everything else was good. Nice comfy bed!

Nice central location. No space in hotel garage but found it easy enough to get to silos parking at the train station. Great room for a family of 4. Huge! The night stopoever would have been perfect if England had won their football match against Argentina but you can’t have it all.

Clean comfortable and friendly. Conveniently located.

Fantastic stay. Really enjoyed staying at this hotel. In a great location and a very short walk to the beach. Staff are extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. The bikes were also great to have to explore the area. Catered well for my wife and daughters who are vegans. I can’t say anything negative about our stay.

Staff were helpful and sorted out a problem with our shower straight away. Rooms spotless.breakfasts plentiful but the coffee was disappointing.
