The Penin Mansion B&B epitomizes the reasons we love to stay at B&Bs: It is a one of a kind historic home in a quiet area of similar historic homes which has been painstakingly restored by the owner who is welcoming, friendly, informative and who serves a delicious and elegant breakfast all for a reasonable price. I hope it continues to offer that great hospitality to many other appreciative visitors while serving New Albany so well.

Exellent all around seems like it should be more expensive for how nice the property it has close proximity to alot of popular areas around lousville and new albany.

Great tour of mansion by owner. Antique shower and bath not user friendly. Everything else was excellent. I would recommend this B&B to history buffs, especially with owner conducted tour.

It is a nice historical place. We loved the neighbourhood. The property is nice, we felt a bit cold at night. Breakfast was amazing.

The innkeeper was helpful and reached out when necessary to make our stay even more comfortable…the breakfast was more than anyone could eat and was delicious and the house and our room was beautiful with its high ceilings and majestic doors…thank you!

If you want something beyond the usual hotel for a stay, this is the place. My wife and I very much enjoyed the stay. It is not often you get to experience history at this level.

You must stay here.
The marilyn suite was amazing. The bed was so comfortable. The mansion was so beautiful. It had amazing antique furnishings, and it was like stepping back in time. I cant wait to visit again.

4 bedrooms in a 100 year old great house, tastefully brought back to life by the owner. The bed rooms and reading rooms were great and breakfast excellent served in a wonderful dining room. 1st class all the way! We would gladly stay here again.

**NOTE** FULL DISCLOSURE on Victor Pepin Suite. This room does not have a bathroom in the suite. The bathroom for this suite is down 2 flight of stairs and toward the back of the mansion. Prior to arrival I spoke twice with Ron. He said the listing described the bathroom as “detached & private.” Before booking I did not see the description….only the pics which looked like the bathroom was in the suite. Ron’s comment was…no worries…we provide bathrobes. I was uncomfortable with the bathroom to my suite being so far from my room. It was a disappointing experience. My purpose of this review is to give travelers accurate info so they can make an informed decision.

I did discuss the bathroom location with the guest BEFORE arrival and offered a FREE Cancelation as it was a same-day booking and she apparently missed the on-line description of the bathroom location, SHE DECLINED. The bathroom location is fully described on my website but on Expedia and other on-line booking engines I am only allowed a descriptor of "Private & Detached". The beautiful room and bathroom is as described and the guest was offered a free cancellation.. and now rewarded with a 2 Star review.... we rent this room 300 days a year and have a 4.7+ star review average.

Historic, and great, quiet atmosphere. A little clunky getting checked in, only because I am not experienced with these 'alternatives' to hotels. What made it incredible was the free wine and beer just setting out as a reception gift. I found myself walking around, drinking wine, looking at art and photos, and reading the history of the mansion. Very cool.

Our stay was amazing. The Pepin is a beautiful walk back in time with modern amenities. Taylor, the innkeeper was so warm and welcoming. The room was spotless and the bed was so comfy! If you go to New Albany, this stay is a must!

This is a beautiful property inside and out. The check-in was great, as Ron, the owner, gave me a tour of the property as well as a history of the house itself, the town of New Albany and the surrounding areas. I was made to feel welcome and Ron made sure I had everything I needed. The breakfasts provided during your stay aren’t to be missed! This is not some continental breakfast, but an event with unique and delicious offerings shared with fellow guests. The neighborhood is quaint and quite while being surprisingly close to downtown Louisville, KY. Ron was also able to recommend excellent restaurants in the area and options for entertainment. I will definitely be returning to this lovely, historic home.
