Overall our vacation was very enjoyable, but i am going to share what I didn’t like. Main minus is the water, I traveled to Caribbean for clear blue water, but all this days I didn’t get a chance. And second minus is that we couldn’t take a normal shower because of the water pressure was so low.

Went with my family for Easter/spring break week! The staff was super friendly, the food was delicious (definitely better than the all inclusives we’ve gone to). And although it was on the smaller side, it made the experience more intimate/lowkey (which we enjoyed)!

Key Highlights: Family & Kids: The resort excels with a dedicated kids' club featuring GPS safety trackers and a passionate staff. The water park and pool "bubble parties" are major highlights, though management should consider adding safety barriers on curved slides and a snack station near the gym area. Dining: Food quality is impressive for the price point. The buffet is well-organized, and the à la carte options—specifically the Greek and Rodizio restaurants—provide a high-end culinary experience. Amenities & Staff: The staff across all departments (drivers, servers, and entertainment) are supportive and professional. The beach at Portillo remains a top-tier feature for its calm, pristine waters. Areas for Improvement: The rooms are the primary drawback; they are functional (hot water and comfortable beds) but look dated and are prone to maintenance issues like AC leaks. Additionally, guests should be aware that on-site convenience stores carry high markups. Verdict: Highly recommended for families or groups seeking a cost-effective, high-service escape in Samaná, provided you prioritize amenities and location over modern room decor.

Balcones del Caribe is a beautiful spot with an excellent location and easy access to the beach. The complex feels very safe, and the staff were always helpful when we needed general information. My only concerns were about the condition of the village: the back door didn’t have a proper lock, the bathroom door wasn’t closing well, and the safe box wasn’t working during our stay. Overall, it’s a lovely place with great potential—just needs a bit more attention to maintenance.
