"The key to our room had difficulty opening the door lock. Our room did not have hand towels. There was no hairdryer in the room either. We had yo call the front desk to order one in the morning for 40 minutes. Breakfast Buffet was rather basic. There was no VIP upgrade."

"I absolutely LOVE this place. We will be back for sure. It was the perfect stay for our 25th anniversary. It's a charming, small boutique hotel with lovely staff and each room is unique with special touches. We stayed in Sol 2 for the first 4 days. It has a balcony with a view of the cathedral and bay and king size bed. Really tall trees prevent people from looking into the room so you can keep the curtains open and still have privacy, or close the black out shades for dark and quiet. We stayed in Tortugas 1 for 4 days on the 2nd floor- king bed, cool shady room by a fountain and lush courtyard. A/C in all rooms. Every morning from 7-10:30 they serve coffee, a fresh fruit plate and toast to each guest in an open dining area next to the kitchen. We often saw whales in the bay while eating. Both kitchens are open for all guests to use. The roof top pool and lounge is a wonderful luxury. It has a medium sized pool with a 180+ degree view of PV and the bay, a palapa covered sectional, loungers and several tables for eating or playing games. Excellent for sunset/sunrise, reading and cooling off after hiking up the hill. THIS PROPERY IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY LIMITATIONS. The walk to the property is up a VERY steep hill and the property is 4 stories without an elevator. It takes some getting used to the walk but in my opinion, this place is completely worth it. The exercise helped me justify my food and cocktail excesses. The staff are a delight as well."

"Did this hotel deserve 5 stars? No. Did it deserve 3 stars? Yes, but remember, 3 stars on Hotels.com is "OK". And for about $120 usd/night, on the beach, in PV, "OK" isn't bad. A lot of what frustrated me initially, was the contradictory info we received either through Hotels.com or at the property. When you check in, they give you a "Regulations and service time table" document. There is a lot of negative information, which I personally don't think is a good way to start a week at a hotel. The water was turned off once in the middle of the night and 3 times (that we noticed) during the day. One of these times was for 4 hours due to a broken pipe. We had to ask for someone to come up to the room with a bucket of water to flush the toilet. The maid was great until it was her day off and management evidently didn't think to cover her rooms. They had the room cleaned after we mentioned it. Hotels.com states there is no elevator but reviews mention 2 elevators with one of them broken. There are 2 elevators and one stopped working at least once/day. Hotels.com says there are 3 pools. However, one pool (adults only) is available for a 350p fee (good toward food/drink). The other pools are in a large patio area but there are only 6 umbrellas. Over the weekend we were there, you had to get out there early to snag an umbrella. So....not a bad hotel. Good location for the price. They need to update their Hotels.com info and their check-in document."

"We heard that the property was being renovated and I hope that's true. We were there for 3 weeks and really could have used a fridge. Also, the showers drain kept bubbling up every couple days even after we had them clean it out and add a chemical. Plumbing should be the first thing renovated. We really enjoyed the pleasant staff and the location is the best in PV. The old world charm of the place is part of a wonderful experience."
