You'll park your car on the street but with easy & accessible availability whereby you can almost always find a spot in front. Coming down the driveway you will arrive at the 9 ft. double gate. If no one’s there to greet you personally a key lock box assures easy access with the private code we provided after you booked. You will then step into the secluded jungle-like back yard. We ask that you always keep the entrance gate securely latched behind you for an added level of safety & privacy. One friendly indoor/outdoor kitty cat resides on the property. We ask that you please do not invite him inside the guesthouse during your stay as we maintain high standards keeping these lodgings allergy-free for future guests. In the main room, the 12 foot vaulted ceilings have 3 brand new ceiling fans that circulate air year round and have lighting also. A newly-installed mini-split HVAC keeps things cool during late summer & early fall and toasty during our California 'winters'. Three skylights, one in each area, main room, kitchen, and bath, filter in natural light. Additionally 9 spotlights on dimmers were installed on the beamed ceiling to create dramatic and soft lighting effects. Recessed lighting (6 in the kitchen, 2 in the walk-in closet, and 2 in the bath) creates lighting control throughout, from bright to romantic to dramatic. A real fireplace with an ornate solid oak Victorian mantle adds a cozy, romantic & inviting touch. A large bathroom has a shower/bathtub, plenty of plush towels & other amenities previously noted. In addition a first-aid kit is tucked under the sink with everything from A to Z, be it sunscreen, Band Aids. A large changing room closet has room for clothes, luggage, an iron and board, a drying rack, hangers & the twin bed. Overhead shelving is perfect if you are staying for a longer period of time & need more storage. One wall in the main room is covered in shelves housing; art, books, baskets to put your things in, & even children’s toys— a wonderful wooden train set & stuffed animals. Pint-sized chairs are also available on request for tiny tot guests. The large granite-countered kitchen is big enough to prepare Thanksgiving dinner for a very large group. If there is anything you need to cook with that you can’t find just ask & we will be happy to get it for you. Just past the outdoor fire pit you'll find a full size washer & dryer located in a separate utility shed. They are free of charge, and shed is stocked with cleaning supplies. If you are here for a while & would like to order periodic maid service just ask & this can be arranged according to your preferences, budget & needs. Via a private antenna, a 55” flat screen TV provides some (but not all) local major network & international channels. A Roku enables over a hundred on demand channels including Netfilx, Pandora, Hulu, to name a few. Hundreds of feature films, TV, and children's programs are available free of charge. A strong wireless Internet signal & your own private Apple airport dock enable seamless connection to your devices throughout your stay. We know that perfection is in the details & we always strive to make your stay just a little bit better in any small way we can. We stayed as a family of 5, and enjoyed. All needed facilities, including nice beds, well equipped kitchen, and laundry are available. the location is very close to main Hollywood attractions and universal studios, yet in a side quite street without parking issues. Sallie was super welcoming and helped me with my grocery store issues. The apartment was quiet, clean, roomy and stocked with everything I needed. We always found parking on the street, and the house's location allowed us to see every tourist attraction we wanted without dealing with any interstate. We were 4 people, and we had plenty of room. The guesthouse was a lovely home base for us while my husband and I were in LA to celebrate our anniversary. It is surprisingly larger than the pictures showed and full of amenities to make you feel at home, including cellphone chargers and a welcome basket of snacks, sparkling water, and beer in the fridge! Check in was a breeze, and you could not beat the location. We were able to Uber/Lyft everywhere, we walked a lot, even drove to Venice Beach one day. We enjoyed meeting our host, Sallie, and getting her recommendations for margaritas and restaurants nearby :) Sallie was never more than a text away if we needed her. Ms. Sallie is truly an amazing host! She was able to accommodate my family and I with less than 24 hours notice. Her home felt like home away from home all while being in the heart of Hollywood. Pictures don't do this place justice. Had great wifi connection which was useful to complete Graduate assignments. FREE Parking was a breeze each night regardless of the time! I was able to park right in front of the home. Ms. Sallie was super sweet and greeted us upon arrival. Great amenities available such as snacks and an on site washer and dryer that were easily accessible and available. This is Such a beautiful and quiet place to stay, no LA noise!. My husband, 3 children (ages 10-13), and I stayed at Sallie's on our much anticipated family trip to LA. We originally had a hotel booked for the week, but as our trip came closer I decided to check into renting a house and decided on Sallie's - it was the best decision we made! Sallie could not have been nicer to deal with in the days leading up to our trip, and was so welcoming upon our arrival. The house is located behind a large, locked gate, and once you walk through the gate you feel like you've entered a little oasis! Her guesthouse was a perfect spot for our family and provided so much more space, charm, and relaxation than a hotel ever could have provided. There was plenty of space, it was spotlessly clean, and the decor was warm and inviting. The extra little bedroom was a perfect spot for our youngest and he loved having his own room. Sallie's home is on the same property and she was so accessible for questions. The home is in a very safe and charming area, and we easily walked for groceries and donuts (we are all missing those Yum Yum Donuts!) The location is central to everything we did and getting around was very easy. We had a large vehicle (Suburban) and we easily found street parking on Sallie's block each day. Sallie could not have been nicer and even brought out her tubs of legos from when her son was little for my son to play with! It was so nice to have access to a washer and dryer and made it so much easier to pack for a week-long trip with 3 kids. We were all so sad to leave! It is a large studio with everything one could want. As an older, single woman traveler, cleanliness and security are critical to me. Sallie's offered a wonderful secure environment in a great location. The apartment looks just like the photos. It's located behind a house and behind a locked gate in a shady yard. The location is wonderful --in the center of everything and very navigable. Sallie was very attentive and helped with any questions. Sallie was there when we arrived, and she was very personable. A few of the lights and fans were not working properly, and Sallie quickly addressed the problem. She was also quick to respond whenever I texted her. The guesthouse is a nice size and very quiet. It was hot in LA when we were there, and the A/C in the guesthouse worked great. The extra bedroom provided ample space to hang up all our clothes, as well as lots of hangers. There is a large size TV, and a large kitchen. The bathroom has good lighting for putting on makeup, and there is a wide shelf on the tub/shower where we could put all our toiletries and hair products. ##### Marian B. I just returned from a four day stay at Sallie’s best. The description and reviews were excellent, but I really think there should be more stars available!! The property itself is awesome. If you are looking for Hollywood glitz and posh accommodations, this is maybe not the best choice. If you are looking for a very cool / bohemian chic / convenient home base - you absolutely will not find a better location. Beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen is perfect if you plan on making a few meals. The home itself is just wonderful. We rented a car and had absolutely no problem parking within steps of the home every day. The neighborhood is very cool and safe and incredibly convenient to all of the major shopping and tourist destinations. Above all, communication with Sallie was exceptional.
