Alternatively, walk to Erskine Falls through the lush Otways subtropical rain forest. The Lorne Golf club is also within walking distance of Carrageen. Place had a few negatives which we left in written form at the place. Overall the place is in need of a freshen up. Very well equipped (complete with kitchen basics salt & pepper etc), lots of natural light, cross ventilation, open spaces, large balcony and views of the water. Loved the outdoor shower for after being at the beach. Easy walk down the hill to the beach and supermarket. Peacefully tucked up the hill back from the main road of a busy Lorne in summer. An abundance of bird life that come to visit daily. The place was perfect for us with great bedrooms, lounge areas, kitchen & bathrooms. The main bathroom downstairs was probably in need of a bit of updating but was still serviceable. Everything you need from cooking to entertainment (55in LCD) are there. Kitchen is well equipped with things like foils, cling wraps etc all there. But the best of all is the 180 deg view of the ocean. It's the best we have seen from a holiday house. The owner Paul, was very helpful and friendly. Always available on phone to answer any questions. I strongly recommend this place. it's right on top of a hill overlooking the whole ocean.
